"This fountain is beautiful and is off on it's own. I was saddened to see people giving themselves baths in it/washing clothes, and that the wonderful tree covered area around it was only being used by people to let their dogs use the bathroom."
"We love coming to this fountain for a quick dip with the doggos. Kids will of course come first so if there's any around, we'll skip the fountain that day. Definitely a hidden gem in Audubon Park!"
""Hidden gem" is the best way to describe this. Great place for photos or to take a breather and have a quiet and peaceful moment."
"This is such an awesome gem to take your kids to! Thank you to the donor/family! It’s shaded as well. People do however walk their dogs off leash and the fountain is a shared space for furry friends; so if you don’t like dogs or do not like off leash owners, you will want to avoid. Most people are very conscientious about their dogs around children, but there are exceptions. Early morning or late afternoon seems to be less crowded. I’ve only been a handful of times but even with several other families/kids, it’s not uncomfortably crowded."
"This little fountain is a hidden gem. It is dedicated as a wading pool for the children of New Orleans. I used to take my now grown daughter there as a little child, which she greatly enjoyed. No crowds, noise, deep end or big kids. Plenty of shade. Today the water was clean with just a little sand on the bottom at one end. Park in the downtown end of the zoo lot as if you were going to the Tea Room. There is a driveway with a do not enter sign along the edge of the parking lot. Walk down this path along the outer zoo fence to access the fountain. There is a twin of this feature in City Park near Storyland."
