"They are very racist, the way the store owner was hovering over my 2 & 4 year old ready to attack them was very frightening. Not to mention intentionally blocking us in the store, I feared for me & my kids safety . The most uncomfortable shopping experience of my life & I will never spend money there again ."

"Star Beauty Supply is well stocked and their products are reasonably priced. But...the older Asian couple are very, very unfriendly and very suspicious of everyone who patronizes the store. They are just rude, nasty and not very welcoming. Needless to say I will take my business elsewhere."

"I recently visited this store with a couple of friends. Both were not black but I am. I read the reviews prior and decided to go to “you & I beauty supply” and it’s actually this place. Immediately by walking in, the man stops me while browsing and says I need to keep my bag on the counter while I shopped. My friend had the same bag and was not approached. I agreed because I didn’t want to cause a scene and mention how we had the same sized bag. After I agreed he left my ítems there for anyone to take and kept looking at me while I browsed the store but not at my friends. If you’re afraid of customers stealing then add cameras, but targeting young black youth off a stereotype or one incident is disgusting. Do better. Thankfully the woman who rung us up was respectful and kind. I will not be returning."

"Please please please take your business elsewhere, anywhere. I have frequented this business for over two years and spent at least 300 or more dollars there. On my final visit and I do mean final I was treated horribly by the man who owns or works there. I was using my smart phone to watch a review on YouTube of the wig I was going to purchase. This wig was in a package and store policy does not allow you to take it out of pkg to try on. He stood in close proximity to me first asking me not to use his Wifi. I told him I was using my own WiFi then he told me no price comparison. I assured him I wanted to see what the wig looked like on a person and showed him I was watching a review as I have done in the past, before buying a wig. He then told me I should go to bigger Beauty supply shop in the mall and told me to leave. Apparently this store doesn’t need my money and frankly I don’t won’t to give it to them. They have lost a valued customer in me. On a positive note I went to the beauty supply store in Port Allen on Lobdell and was treated like a queen. I believe the name is Princess Beauty Supply. They now have my business and my loyalty."

"I’ve been reading the reviews posted here and I never tend to do this but I think that many people are exaggerating. They are scared of stealing, which is understandable because some of the hair can be worth a good amount of money. Nothing that I thought was over-barring. I’ve shopped there multiple times for all different reasons and I, much like anyone else, have had to give up large bags and place them in the front counter. It can get to be annoying if you were going in and out. But that is the way they insure that nothing could be stolen. Overall, I’ve been happy with the items I have purchased for both the quality and the price."
