"This company drags out the claims process. The desk agent Rodney does not return phone calls. They will extend the review time on a claim to maximum length possible. Horrible. Sadly this is the only option in Louisiana for home owners insurance."

"Like the other complaints. Very little payout for hurricane damage. They covered $500 of a $16,000 re-roof after Hurricane Zeta. They did pay for most of my shed that collapsed, though. Still doesn't make up for the $15,500 I had to cover to replace my roof. Now with the premiums more than doubling over a 2 year time frame, I'm dropping the coverage (no mortgage). Can't keep throwing money at a company for ZERO peace of mind, when I'm going to need that money to fix my house regardless of Citizens coverage."

"I would give them -10 stars if I could. My local insurance agent signed me up for LA Citizens when my previous home insurance company went bankrupt. I paid over $1,500 for my first premium and got a check for $700 from them a couple of months later. I had never received any notifications about my policy from them. I called and they said they were missing a signature, so I was never covered and this was my refund. They kept $860 and I can’t get it back."
