"I went twice during my visit. They were friendly and helpful both visits. I even went one morning when they first opened and I could smell the cleanliness of the place. Highly recommend"
"Selection and prices are good. Staff is super helpful."
"The sales person working at the Canal St store gives the worse customer service experience. Especially in an area where tourists who travel all over the world and know the difference are exposed… It is a bad reflection on the business who hires such people. Me and my friends and family are reluctant to go into another Athletes Foot store to shop again. Get it together with you staff. People can shop anywhere for the same goods."
"Hello On Sunday, 1/29/22, I was in New Orleans and went to the location on 600 Canal St. I arrived to the location at 6:40pm and the front door was locked. I was surprised because online it stated that the store closed at 7pm. I observed staff and a few customers inside. So I patiently waited for someone to come let me in. After about five minutes, the employee came to the door and informed me that I could not come in because they were mopping the floor, to prepare to close. I informed them that since they didn't close until 7pm, and it was only 6:45pm, that I should be allowed in. The employee again stated that they begin to clean up prior to the actual close time and therefore I would not be allowed to shop. I informed him that most stores start cleaning AFTER they close and allow their customers to come in and shop up until their actual close time. However, I was not allowed in and clearly wasted my time walking all the way to the store (about a mile). On the very next day I called the store and asked to speak with the manager. I informed the manager of what happened the previous day. The manager stated that their regular practice was to stop letting customers in around 6:30pm, and to begin their cleanup for the evening. I informed him that they shouldn't be locking customers out at 6:30pm, if they actually close at 7pm. I asked him if corporate was aware of their daily practices and he said "probably not"."
"I could not return new, unworn shoes. There was no option made available to me to return shoes I purchased on a business trip 2,000 miles from my home. I got home, the shoes did not fit. I had not taken the box because I have carry-on luggage. When I called the Athlete's Foot store in New Orleans where I purchased the shoes I spoke to 3 different people on a single call (all of whom were identified as "the Manager.") I was told I could NOT return shoes without the box. I suppose I could return to New Orleans, 2000 miles away from my home, and hope the store would accept the return even without a box, though they said they would not. This is ridiculous. Returning shoes that don't fit and haven't been worn shouldn't be this difficult. Plus, I would never receive a refund, only store credit: at a store 2,000 miles away. There are none in my part of the country fyi. The return policy is inflexible, I was told. I now have $70 Converse I cannot wear and cannot return., This is the definition of poor customer service. This review will lose the store far more than $70. It is a terrible way to treat customers. All of the 3 Store Managers (ha!) apologized and were polite but would not or could not in any way accommodate me. This is the definition of a failure of customer service which is the death knoll for any business. If I ran my business like this, I would be unemployed."
