"I first saw Dr. Haydel for a cleaning and she had a warm demeanor and answered any questions I had. I ended up having a old molar filling crack along with chipping the tooth. I had no pain, but it was bound to get worse. I then was assessed by Dr. Delahoussaye and he determined I would need a root canal and crown. It was unexpected, but I put down a private pay rate deposit of 50%, $1500+, to schedule the procedure. He did the root canal and crown. Pain after the procedure persisted and I returned two more times for him to attempt to remove the entire root. During one of my visits, while actively performing a follow up root canal procedure on my tooth, hovering above me, he proceeded to dress down a medical device service repair person. He complained and criticised the company and the guy. During my last visit (the 3rd attempt to clean out the root) he told me if this didn't work he would apply what I've already paid towards an implant. He told me all of this while performing the procedure. I don't know about you, but I don't want to discuss financial responsibility WHILE A PROCEDURE IS GOING ON. If he really needed to discuss this with instruments in my mouth, he easily could have said, "if this doesn't work we'll have to consider further options." This was months ago and I'm STILL receiving a bill for $70 that I refuse to pay. This was likely due to their price increase that happened across my 4 appointments in three or four months. I wasn't going to leave a review until I saw on Healthgrades that he has two reviews describing very similar results: pain after a procedure when the original issue was causing no pain and having to attempt a procedure multiple times. Had all the "little things" not been an issue at this office, it's understandable that a procedure might require more than originally discussed. I understand it is a fee for service, not a fee for success. I'm a healthcare provider and I'd never speak to staff members or outside service providers that way and definitely not in front of my patients. Buyer beware."
