"Top restaurant! Can't recommend it highly enough! The dishes were absolutely delicious, the cocktails were superb and the service was great! There is a whole vegan page of dishes, which were difficult to choose from. The fried tofu lotus root was a tasty starter (I love lotus root and it can be difficult to find). The pumpkin curry tofu, green curry vegan, khao soi vegan were the mains we ordered."
"Story of how we got here: We’re from out of town on a family vacation (Texas!) and I was in charge of making dinner reservations. I made a reservation somewhere else and accidentally made it for the wrong day (oops). We were left with no idea where to eat, starving after biking at city park, and with a vegan in our dinner party. Options were limited as most places didn’t have walk ins for a party of 6. HOWEVER, we found Thaihey on google for having good vegan options and knew we had to give it a try. And lucky for us, they had a table for 6 open with no wait! Misty, our server, treated us amazingly. She answered all the questions we had about the menu and checked on us multiple times throughout out the night. It was almost as if she could read our mind, her timing was excellent. Food wise, it was incredible. On our way in, a couple of women told us “this is the best thai food you’re going to have in the city” so our expectations were high. I’m not a good gauge of how thai food is, but I can tell when something is TASTY. And let me tell you, the food changed my life. I ordered the Thaihey soft shell crab, the crispy shrimp roll, and the affogato dessert. Other people in my party enjoyed the fried okra, the larb tofu, the dessert sorbet, massaman lamb, and vegan boat noodle soup, the chicken poppers. It was all exquisite. I highly recommend this place, and if I’m ever in NOLA again, I will definitely stop by again."
"Creative Thai food. Fried eggplant with basil had amazing taste. But overall it’s heavier than NYC and my personal taste prefers to lighter. Thai ice tea was the best we ever had, not too sweet and not too much artificial flavor The service was a bit slow and inconsistent reservation info - website said no reservation unless big group but some 4ppl tables were reserved when we got there. Another cons was, the dining room was filled up with odor of cooking oil and you could bring home as much as you want with long lasting effect (had to use perfume to cover it next day since we were traveling)"
"Honestly, be prepared to have the best Thai food you’ll likely ever eat. We love Thai food, and have been all over the US and Asia, but have never experienced the culinary delight that Thaihey NOLA creates for its customers. Each dish was a meticulous mixture of textures, tastes, and stunning aromatics - elevating the entire experience to one we will not forget. Oh, and for the vegetarians / vegans - everything is phenomenal. From the mind blowing okra, rich pumpkin curry and fragrant Khao Sui to the little side cucumbers in the creamy Tofu Satay - everything is prepared with love and care. In summary, if Michelin was to ever visit NOLA, Thaihey would atleast get a Bib Gourmand if not more."
"We got here before 7 and were able to find a table, but reserve one if you're planning to go! It got packed by 7.15. And rightfully so! The food was amazing, so was the service. We had the fried Tofu and Lotus root, and the vegan boat noodle. The latter was incredible! There was something sweet in the soup that set the spices off incredibly well. The blooming tea pot was a delight to watch as the flower slowly bloomed open, and the tea tasted wonderful. We loved the fried lotus root as well, although the tofu could have used a bit more spice. Amazing place overall!"
