"14Parishes has 2 locations, I've been to both! The Oak Street location is a Caribbean vibe! Start out with the amazing food, drinks (the Rum punch got me every time, so yummy!), and service in the restaurant area. Once you wrap it up, they have a lounge upstairs called the Hummingbird on the weekend! Dope drinks and rooftop vibes... Talk about the perfect spot for an all evening into night date night spot or a time on the town with your girls! They have a more family-friendly location - Algiers Point - much more spacious, but offers the same great quality of good, drinks, and vibes! There isn't a lounge at this location, but it doesn't take anything away from it. Whichever your mood, check out either of the locations! I didn't take many pics, but I found these ones - a drink pic and some artwork hanging in the lounge!"
"You know, the food is good when the mmmm mmmmm mmmm keeps on coming with every bite! I love goat curry, and I eat everywhere that it’s on the menu. This is probably the best I have ever tasted (not been to Jamaica, yet). Delicately, and deliciously spiced. The Calalloo was fantastic too, and the plantains crispy on the outside, sweet tasting, and creamy consistency-perfect! Their Mojito was excellent, in this town that invented cocktails, few are bad, but this one was excellent. An old school friend recommended this place, and it did not disappoint! Reasonably priced too which is such a relief these days (2/24)."
"I used to like this place when they were in Pythian Market. I was sad to hear they closed so when I heard they opened a location in Algiers I was really excited to check them out. I ordered for the first time through Door Dash and TBH was really disappointed in the food. I ordered lambs based off of what the photo looked like and it was no where near close. The chops were very small, not cut, and over cooked, and the Mac n cheese taste like it’s out the box. And I paid $27 for it. I would think it would have been worth the money but it wasn’t. Maybe their salmon and shrimp is still good but eating from this new location left a bad taste in my mouth. My husband also said the rice and peas were dry and oxtails weren’t tender. The jerk sauce was good but tasted more honey -based and not much spice to it. The plantains were the best part of our meal. I hope they work to improve the quality of their food for delivery. The in dining restaurant photos look better."
"This. Is. The. New. Spot. Beautifully renovated space, industrial warehouse vibe. Warm, attentive service. Great food. Dare you not to find something to love here! Carnival cabin fever led me on a whim to search for places open near me. Expecting the same ol' same ol', I got a little giddy when 14 Parishes popped up, a Jamaican place that had just opened up right on the river. (We're new to NOLA, so I've never been to the other locations.) We hustled over there! We ordered the sampler: jerk shrimp, pork, ribs, and chicken; plantains; festival (a fried dough); grilled corn on the cob; and jerk sauce. Well worth the $: 3-4 people could get full easily, though I suggest adding a side order of plantains because you won't be able to get enough of those sumptuous things. This was a tower of meaty power! The meats were soooo tender! And well marinated; you could taste subtle flavors through and through. The jerk seasonings weren't too spicy, but if you want extra heat ask for hot sauce or bring a little cayenne. The jerk sauce is thick, smoky, slightly sweet, kind of like a BBQ sauce. For a cocktail, try the Bobsled, made with hibiscus tea, fresh ginger, and Wray & Nephew white rum. Goes down so smooth but sneaks up on you a little bit. You'll know it when you start feeling a little warm and extra friendly. A safe short walk from the ferry or surrounding neighborhood. Lots of EZ, well-lit parking."
