"Came in with my partner on Monday 3/11 at 3pm and sat at the bar. The restaurant was not busy, maybe 2 other tables at the time we arrived. We ordered 2 waters and an appetizer to start within 5 mins of being there. It took about 15 minutes for the app to get to us, all while the bartender, a very young girl, did not check on us once. She quickly walked away after dropping off the food. It was then we realized all the employees, including management, were hiding behind the bar in the kitchen and were not checking on anyone else in the restaurant either. The app, which was the edamame dumplings, was flavorful, but lukewarm by the time we got it. The bartender finally came out of hiding and got orders from other people who just walked in after us and then got to us after another few minutes. We ordered the butternut squash pizza and Korean bowl. Bartender quickly went back into hiding for a long time without checking on us. There were customers walking in wondering where staff was to seat them because none were out on the floor to greet or check on anyone. They were not understaffed either, there were several servers and what seemed like a few management chatting in the kitchen area and “cleaning glasses”. The restaurant was DEAD, their main priority was to clean glasses instead of check on their guests. There were hundreds of clean glasses on the shelves and all the tables were stocked. 45 minutes go by and still nobody has checked on us to see if we wanted anything, maybe a refill of water would have been nice. Our food finally comes out and again, it’s lukewarm. The pizza presentation was tragic and dry, we took apart all the toppings and redistributed them and spread the cheese ourselves. The Korean bowl was okay. But in case you were wondering, yes the bartender dropped our food off and went to go on her phone in hiding again in the kitchen. She didn’t ask us if we needed anything and our water glasses were not refilled once again. I was literally STARING at servers in the kitchen and nobody came to check on us at all. The bartender came out of hiding to clock out of her shift without saying anything to us. Another male bartender stepped in to clock into his shift after another 5-10 mins and I had to ask him to get the check. He at least had a smile on his face. He gave us the check, but didn’t ask if we wanted a box (half the pizza was still in front of us) so we had to wait even longer to ask for one. This is the first time in my life I have not left a tip but this service was absolutely atrocious. We were there for over an hour and not one time did anyone check on us to see if we needed anything. The place was dead. This is probably why. It’s unfortunate because this place is really cool looking and it could be really great. But the prices were extremely high for the quality of food and service. We will not be back."
"The food was wonderful, and they had lots of options for gluten-free and vegetarian options. The service was OK, but they didn't have smiles or that southern feel you come to love."
"My wife and I are both trying to eat more healthy. That's why we chose this restaurant. Unfortunately, the service was VERY bad! We waited approximately 20 minutes for a table. After being seated we waited another 10 or 15 minutes for a waitress to even bring us water and in order to get our drinks refilled we had to flag people down because no one was coming to our table to check on us. They were out of the first appetizer that we chose so we ordered a different appetizer but it was served with all of the rest of the food. None of the food was served hot! The quality of the food was good we enjoyed the flavors of everything we ate. I will say the meatloaf is a must try. We may go back at some point to give them another try and hopefully things will be much better. But this was not a good experience. Especially in a town that is known for its food."
"Great place for a chill and delicious brunch, while still being somewhat healthy. All the ingredients were very fresh. I tried the horchata matcha and it was surprisingly delicious, fully recommend it. The huevos rancheros were very tasty but have a lot of spices so if you don’t Ike that I’d recommend another option. Salmon and avocado toast were amazing!"
"I recently had the pleasure of dining at True Food Kitchen in New Orleans, following a fantastic experience at their Scottsdale location. Once again, True Food Kitchen exceeded my expectations. The food was absolutely amazing, and I have to say, the service was almost as good as the food, thanks to the delightful Caitlin who tended to my table. She exuded that wonderful southern charm that adds an extra layer of enjoyment to a dining experience. When it came to drinks, I ordered an Old Fashioned, and they really know how to do it right here. The balance of alcohol was perfect, and the presentation added to the overall experience. For starters, I opted for the cauliflower dish, and it instantly became one of the best cauliflower dishes I've ever had. The double vegan cheeseburger was delicious, although a tad heavy on the sauce at this location. The patties were cooked to perfection, and I appreciated that they weren't the "beyond" or "impossible" patties, but the excess sauce made it a bit messy. However, it was still quite enjoyable. The Kale salad, served as a side, is a must-try. The dressing used worked wonders in balancing out the bitterness of kale, turning it into a dish I couldn't get enough of. And since their roasted potatoes are also fantastic, I couldn't resist ordering a side of them as well. True Food Kitchen in New Orleans lived up to the exceptional food experience I had in Scottsdale, and this time, the service took it to another level. It's a great spot for us vegans, especially when dining with friends who aren't plant-based. I wholeheartedly recommend visiting, and I hope you have the pleasure of meeting Caitlin during your visit."
