"Very good customer service. We had the big poppa, lil poppa and mini poppa and the family enjoyed it. The sweet potato fries were hot and fresh! Everything was great!"
"Tested 6 items: both sweet potato & white potato fries were cooked in oil not hot enough producing a soggy oil saturated fry, both types potatoes had obvious black fungi and parasite (bug) damage… not safe to eat additionally the oil used to cook the potatoes was used for chicken…ugh! The garnish for the hamburger was just as bad with old lettuce with several 1/4 in black fungi (bacteria) spots…unsafe, tomato was half a slice of green tough core, and the onion was very bitter and off smelling… really bad flavor (use a freaking Valdalia…really.)The beef patty had several (two) small hard particles that had to be spat out and it was set aside, but it was cooked nicely… well and yet still moist. The American cheese was very good. The chicken was garbage due to no marinade or soaking in simple salt overnight to draw out the blood… blood makes chicken and fish unpalatable and again oil temp low equals oil saturated food… ugh. I did order red beans & rice but decided to not eat them due to probable dissatisfaction based off overall experience. In my life I have cooked for many people some large 300+ groups or small dinner parties and it always requires basic prep, proper procedures and attention to detail which are not addressed in this “world famous kitchen.” BK & McD’s would have been a much more pleasant experience. Apologies for the negative review, but the food was really bad and unsafe to consume. Mark"
"I’ve been driving by Big Poppa’s for quite some time and finally decided to stop by for a late lunch and I’m so glad I did. I ordered the Big Poppa Buger and Sweet Potato Fries. The burger was definitely home made and was perfectly made with fresh lettuce, tomatoes and bacon. The Sweet Potato Fries were sprinkled with a cinnamon sugar and brilliantly served with a cream cheese dip. The server who took my order was also amazing and continued to check on me through my meal. I will definitely be going back!"
"I had the chicken and waffles with some steak fries and a lemonade, and it was one of the worst meals I've had in a long time. The chicken was overcooked in old grease so it sat heavy in the stomach for hours, but at least it tasted decent - comparable to Popeye's so mediocre at best. The waffles were inedibly sour. I've never had a waffle taste sour. I had to Google if waffles were sour in case I forgot something, turns out putting sour cream in waffles is a thing. If that's the case then they used way too much of it that just left a horrible tang after each bite of something that's supposed to be sweet. Gave up after 3 bites. It was such a jarring experience that MAYBE if there were advertised as sour cream waffles or something then it could be expected and appreciated for the novel flavor. But they were just supposed to be plain old waffles. Maybe the batter had gone bad, that could probably taste sour. Dunno. Oh and they weren't crispy. If I want a soggy waffle that is just passable then I'd go to a waffle house and skip the premium price. And the biggest thing wrong in the whole thing was the syrup. I was expecting actual maple syrup, what I got was maple flavored corn syrup. Disgusting. If nothing else changes then at least that should, because I may as well go to waffle house if I want some bottom of the barrel aunt jamima maple flavored corn syrup. Do better. Jack the price up a dollar to justify the cost if need be but trying to sell the premium experience of chicken and waffles with CORN SYRUP made me realize why the place was dead empty at 1pm. Ah, and the freshly made lemonade is 100% freshly mixed Country Time lemonade or some other lemonade flavored drink mix. I've had enough lemonade flavored drink mix to tell the difference between the real stuff and imitation. There was a haze of grease smoke that just stuck around the whole time we were there. A sign of poor ventilation so that might do wonders if you have a breathing issue. The service was good enough in comparison to everything else. No real greeting, and took the cashier lady to finish up whatever she was doing before acknowledging us, no "just a minute" no "sorry about that" just right into "how can I help you". Honestly surprised I got that since I never got the fries. Oh yeah, can't really say anything about the fries since they never came and. In their defense I only ate the food for about 5 minutes - after waiting a good 20 with no one else coming in - before being too disgusted to finish. So it may have taken them another 5 to get the fries out to me. They could've been good, but I couldn't have been bothered to figure out since everything else was was pretty bottom on the barrel."
"I had a Groupon and they would not honor it. They stated they don’t take the Groupon on the weekends. It was not stated anywhere on the Groupon before I purchased it. Nor was it updated to state the fact (per the cashier). They don’t take groupons on the weekends because it’s too busy. WT** kind of excuse is that!! (It’s Friday and I’m the only one outside trying to order something). Picture attached. Now do it look busy!!???? After receiving my order,I found that the meat was burnt and falling apart. The bread was soggy AF!! And the onion rings made with homemade batter. ( it was not seasoned. Wry hard and taste just like flour) I would not recommend this establishment. Very poor experience all together. Waste of my fourth some odd dollars. Very disappointed!!! So Mr Master P. Get it together with the people who are suppose to represent you sir in business!!!"
