"First time here, sat at the bar to save time without reservations. Interesting menu. We shared the Hangar Steak & the Littleneck Clams shareable plates. Very tasty and service was impeccable."
"For some reason, I expected Mister Mao’s to be a typical dimsum restaurant, but it was a bit different than that. We ordered a bunch of small plates - kashmiri fried chicken, crispy pork belly, smoked lamb belly, gulf shrimp dumplings, garlic noodles and pork lumpia. They didn’t have crab for the noodles, probably not worth getting without it. The pork belly and smoked lamb tasted good on the first bite and kinda went downhill after that. The pork lumpia was really good and so were the dumplings. Overall, nice place and decent food, service was quick and we got a seat at the “chef’s counter” - however, it wasn’t anything special."
"Such a unique spot! I loved the twist with South East Asian ingredients fused with local spices too. Everything was delicious. Lamb belly is a must especially if you love some spice!! Highly recommend and the staff are incredible!"
"After eating here both for dinner and brunch, I highly recommend giving it a try if you’re adventurous and not afraid of spice. The atmosphere and service are great, but I’ve been consistently impressed by the food even more. The menu is definitely unique and eclectic, but I’ve enjoyed nearly everything I’ve tried. I highly recommend the fried chicken. The drinks are also stellar."
"Really wanted to love this place after seeing the sample menu but unfortunately fell short of our expectations. Brussel sprouts bhaji was definitely the highlight. But everything else was under seasoned ( asked for salt which made some improvements) and the balance of some dishes were just a little off. Received a comp sorbet which was alright. Maybe stick to flavors you know and work on pumping out a consistent product. Fried chicken needs adjustment. *Presentation was good"
