"I recently had the pleasure of dining at Drago's Seafood Restaurant located at the Hilton Hotel in New Orleans, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience. The restaurant not only offers a warm and inviting ambiance, but it also serves some of the most delectable seafood dishes in town. One dish that truly stood out to me was the Charbroiled Oysters. These succulent oysters were cooked to perfection on a charbroiler, creating a unique and irresistible flavor. Each oyster was topped with a flavorful blend of garlic, butter, and Parmesan cheese, resulting in a heavenly combination that tantalized my taste buds. The oysters were juicy, tender, and bursting with flavor, making them an absolute delight to savor. What made my dining experience even more enjoyable was the fact that I chose to sit at the bar. Not only did this provide me with a front-row seat to watch the skilled chefs in action, but it also gave me the opportunity to interact with some truly wonderful people. The friendly and knowledgeable bartenders made me feel welcome and engaged in interesting conversations about the city, its culture, and, of course, the delicious food. The service at Drago's Seafood Restaurant was exceptional. The staff was attentive, accommodating, and genuinely passionate about providing a memorable dining experience. The waitstaff went above and beyond to ensure that I had everything I needed, from recommending the perfect drink pairing to promptly delivering my food. Their attention to detail and friendly demeanor truly enhanced my overall dining experience. I highly recommend Drago's Seafood Restaurant at the Hilton Hotel in New Orleans. The Charbroiled Oysters are a must-try, and sitting at the bar provides both a unique dining experience and the opportunity to meet great people. The combination of outstanding food, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere makes Drago's Seafood Restaurant a true gem in the heart of New Orleans. I cannot wait to return and indulge in their mouthwatering offerings once again."
"Drago's Seafood is located inside the Hilton New Orleans Riverside. It can be accessed through a main doorway outside the hotel for those not staying overnight. It is an open yet spread out restaurant with tables seating 2 to 10. There was also bar seating near the cooking area for individuals to sit alone without being singled out. The service was good but they were very busy during the 6pm hour when we were there. It was Tuesday night and starting to get busier as we were leaving. At the time we went we were at the hotel due to a conference and there was at least one more also in their center so that may have led to the number of people. The food is on the higher end in price but the portions fit the pricing and everything tasted good. We had Mama's Seafood Gumbo which was very good compared to others I have had in New Orleans. We also had Gator Bites as an appetizer and they were very clean and delicious. As main entrees we had the Shrimp Platter and the Catfish Platter and both were great. They each came with fries and onion rings which were also tasty and not greasy as you sometimes get. Overall, I would definitely recommend them if you are in the area."
"When a restaurant gets full by 7:30 pm on. Tuesday you know they are doing something right! We got here just before 6:00 pm and their parking lot was already full. Thankfully there’s additional parking surrounding there, so we simply had to cross the street. The atmosphere inside is nice. It is elegant, without being too pretentious. The service was wonderful and friendly and the food was excellent! We had charbroiled oysters, which I cannot describe how good they were. You have to try them for yourself! Alongside the oysters we had gator bytes, the fried shrimp platter, seafood pasta, and gumbo. All of the above were wonderful! We also tried a local beer, perfect pairing for the meal. We had a great time and would definitely go back!"
"Take my review with a grain of salt, I’m not a seafood guy. We have the charbroiled oysters and they were very good. I have never had oysters prepared like this, and it has changed my opinion on them as a dish. I generally will eat some of the regularly prepared ways and only occasionally as part of larger parties. The butter and garlic spices was also just good plain on the provided bred. We also had alligator tacos and they were a good balance of fresh ingredients and a little spice. Lastly we had the lobster Marco I loved the noodles, sauce, and shrimp. The portion was good too. I’m not a big fan of lobster meet in general. So I just crack the claws and share the meat with my wife, I can take it or leave it. So if it was good or bad I could not say. Over all good food. They are very popular so I would plan ahead. It’s worth the time even if you just pop in to try the oysters."
"Starting with the good stuff- We didn’t have to wait long for a table of 6. Which was nice! As for our server, she was great, very polite but so busy. Service was good knowing that she was busy. Atmosphere I would rate as the same scale as a hotel restaurant or casino restaurant, not the fancy ones. One step up from paper napkins. Drinks were yummy, but hard to go wrong with all the fun ones they have! Now, for the food, I would give them a 2.5 out of 5. It was just okay and nothing stood out. We were given the recommendation to go here for the charbroiled oysters, which were fine. If you’ve had oysters Rockefeller, there are better ones out there. Alligator tacos were a must try, but just okay too (majority of our table agreed). The steaks and pasta were like diner status- edible but nothing outstanding."
