"Ashley Stewart needs to do a better job of communicating it's policy on returns. I received gifts for my birthday from Ashley Stewart. I recently tried to return the items not because I didn't like them, but because of the size. I ended up shopping to replace the items because I was told I could not get a refund. I didn't mind because I always found great pieces in the store. As I checked out, at no time did the store clerk communicate that I would be receiving a store credit for only half of what was paid originally for the items, nor was it on the receipt. As I walked out of the store, I looked at the receipt and realized that I did not receive all of the money. The store clerk knows she did not tell me the policy. Had I known, I would have kept the merchandise and blessed someone with it, instead of losing half of what someone blessed me with. Doesn't that make sense? "I've shopped Ashley Stewart for many many years and today was my first bad experience....I went into the Baton Rouge/Hammond Square mall location to return an item I do not need...I purchased the item a few weeks ago on my Ashley Stewart card just to see if the account was still open...I paid the card while standing at the register....I approached the counter with my return and naturally the nice person on duty could not help me and had to retrieve a unpleasant person in charge to assist me...with both receipts in hand(purchase receipt and payment receipt) I asked if I could return the item for a cash refund...I was told no...I then asked if I could get a gift card/store credit...I was told no again...she insist on crediting the purchase to the credit card I explained to her that the card had a 0 balance and did not want to wait 6 months for a refund....I guess the reason for my post is to inform Ashley Stewart of the the tall, dark, manish looking person with the unbecoming red hair and her unpleasant unfriendly demeanor...I'm beginning to enjoy online shopping much better then face to face....I will never use Ashley Stewart Credit Card again."
