"As always, the raw oysters were large & good. Shrimp were fried, perfect, and sweet potato fries & salads were good. Expert service by Marissa and a perfect meal. Bread pudding was out of sight, good. In 8-9 months, the new Shucks will be in Lake Charles!!!!"

"We went to Mardi Grad in Eunice and then went to Abbeville to eat at SHUCKS! because two Cajun friends recommended it. I am still trying to figure out why they had not recommended this place to us sooner. Haha. We loved the Oysters Rockefeller, gumbo, and the fried seafood platter. The bread pudding with extra rum sauce was great. Why not pig out, it was Fat Tuesday. Don’t forget to take home a bottle of the Sugar Cane Vinaigrette Dressing and Marinade. Oh, and I almost forgot the tasty frozen margaritas from a machine that are cheap on Tuesdays."

"I chose to go to this place because of the great reviews.I am from Lake Charles and we were in the area visiting one of our family members. I was highly disappointed and wished I had gone somewhere else. I ordered the sassy shrimp as an appetizer and it came out almost warm. I didn’t ask for hotter food because my husband had ordered the oyster sampler ( he says the oysters were pretty good)and I figured maybe they were waiting to bring them both out at the same time. The taste wasn’t too bad if you like sweet sauce. I ordered the shrimp and grits as my entree with sweet potato fries. The grits were horrible. They were so hard and gritty. The shrimp on top were good though. After I realized I was unable to eat the grits I decided to leave a review and that it why most of my shrimp are gone lol. My fries were cold so I asked for some more and the waitress brought more out, but even hot they still did not taste good to me. My husband ordered the seafood platter but I was not impressed with that either."
