El Paso Mexican Grill

"We stopped here on the way home and was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the burrito asada while the wife ordered the the steak chimichanga. The waiter was polite and professional, in no time our food was ready. I was surprised with the bean dip served along the usual salsa and chips but then recalled this is a signature of this chain. The atmosphere was nice: brighter than many places. Lots of brightly painted walls and ceiling. I did not remember to photograph the food till we had started eating: sorry ‘bout that."

"I really love Mexican food and this was my first time eating here. Looking at the plate, I immediately knew the food wasn't going to be good. The best part of the meal is the vegetables. A shrimp quesadilla plate... The tortilla isn't crispy. The cheese tasted awful. The rice is bland. It didn't come close to being authentic. Great live singer, decor, and atmosphere. Food needs a lot of improvement."

"WORST FOOD I’VE EVER HAD. We had a party of 4 and waited 45 minutes just for a water refill while the waiter keep staring at us every time she walked by to help her other tables. Chicken Enchiladas were ordered to be fajita chicken with flour tortillas. We were served shredded chicken with corn and were charged extra for queso (without being told). Steak Fajitas were $16 for microwaved day old or 2 leftover steak and it looked like rubber. The portion sizes were terrible. A $17 burrito for what I can go to Taco Bell and pay $5 and it would probably taste way better. Overall terrible service, taste, and quality of food. DO NOT RECOMMEND."

"El Paso Mexican Grill in Gonzales is a good place to eat. They feature fast and friendly service and reasonable prices. The marguerites are very good and during happy hour they are sometimes priced two for one. This is not authentic or gourmet cuisine, rather good solid food, served quickly and reasonably priced."
