"We went to Abear's Cafe and enjoyed some live music on a Friday. Food and service were both good. Enjoyed the shrimp poboy, and my husband liked their fried oysters. Update: came back and tried the roast beef. It was pretty good too!"

"awesome experience for some authentic cajun cuisine. a group of us showed up at 6pm on a Friday - they had live music and the place was busy. felt like we were eating in somebody's living room, lots of locals who clearly frequent the place. food was great, i had the chicken & sausage gumbo which was delicious. they have won the award for best local gumbo something like 7 years in a row. server was funny and helpful."

"A Cajun food heaven for Houma. The food is ranked #1 for what it serves, in many categories. Home style cooking, fried seafood, sandwiches, poboy, hamburger steak, potato salad, gumbo, stew, desert, all made in the kitchen from scratch. Sure it is not a 5 star type restaurant, but for it's type/style, it is 5 star. Soda and beer on real ice! Got to come here and just enjoy, especially when they have a band playing, 5 to 9 on some weekends. A must visit if you have friends visiting Houma."
