"A very calm place to walk. I just stumbled upon this park as I was walking back from town and headed back to the Red Lion Hotel where I was staying. The 9/11 Memorial Park in Port Angeles, Washington, offers a serene escape from the bustling surroundings. The subtle sounds of nature and the well-maintained greenery create a peaceful atmosphere, making it an unexpected yet delightful discovery. The park's design, coupled with its poignant memorial elements, provides a reflective space to honor and remember."
"It's my favorite place to go for quiet reflection before starting work in the morning. A great place to listen to the birds and water, smell the flowers and watch the sunrise over the Strait. Beautiful view of Mt. Baker on clear days."
"It's an OK park that I happened to stumble upon while in Port Angeles for work. The main statues and whatnot are fine, a silly looking seal and a steel beam from the New York tragedy. The view of the water from the benches was nice too, however the main drawbacks are that there was a giant homeless encampment with several shifty types of people doing drugs and similar activities. It also could be better maintained."
"Had a great time parking here and walking the trail. The only houseless humans I encountered were in the bushes on the trail closer to the red lion and they did not bother us at all."
"Cool little park and walking trail. Too bad Port Angeles' sewage is drained into the bay right at this park. The smell wasn't bad... was it the ocean or sewage? Maybe both. I wouldn't recommend going here by yourself or after dark... most homeless people are nice, but there are the occasional folks with possible untreated mental illnesses. It's our second trip to Port Angeles and this little park and paved trail. Seeing a part of the steel beam from one of the twin towers from N.Y. is truly humbling... as well as seeing people from all walks of life. If you like people watching - this is an afternoon paradise."
