"While cliche, if I could leave 0 stars I would. We rented a property in the Mt. Hood area about a month before our trip with multiple people flying from out of town. The day of our trip was as expected, got the check in instructions. As you’d expect, it was snowing and cold at the mountain. Once we arrived at the unit we found feces in the toilet, no running water, a burst pipe and entire room wet, a trash can on a bed to collect dripping water, and dirty clothes. We called and let Vacasa know and their solution was to send a maintenance person to check it out… mind you, no maintenance person could solve the issues. We had no choice but to check in at a hotel at a cost that was higher than the originally booked price. As we communicated back and forth with Vacasa, we came to find out they were aware that the house was unlivable and failed to communicate with us prior to our trip starting…. Due to this gross negligence, we had to spend in excess of $800 at a hotel last minute. Vacasa refused to acknowledge or own up to their negligence and in turn simply offered a refund and 10% off the next visit. As you’d expect, we have no plans to rent from a company that has absolutely 0 customer service and failure to make right from their mistake. To make back the $800+ we had to spend on the hotel, we’d have to book a $8k stay which is completely absurd. Absolutely no help, accountability, or respect for their customers (or so we thought we were their customers). Run away, don’t walk, from booking anything related to Vacasa. Even in their gross negligence they won’t care to lift a finger to make it right. To the Vacasa team monitoring reviews, don’t bother responding with your template unless it comes with a $850 refund. You’ll just be wasting your and any readers’ time."

"This is a very long review but please read if you are thinking about renting from these people they never made it right and I don't lie on my reviews you can check I'm in the top 10% in the I didn't get there by lying or exaggerating. I've seen the reviews and the answers. You guys don't seem to care at all about customer service or making things right with your customers that has been screwed on a vacation that they plan for probably all year. To me that is completely no one should have to completely work their butts off just to be able to afford a vacation with you. Get there and it be completely nasty with puke in the sink, toilets full of feces, and no running water won't flush, hot tub which is a huge feature was neither filled up or worked. We were promised $450 on the refund from the cleaning fee and the night we had to stay in this cabin which also it gets worse even had used calling them still in the trash and no bed lens with dirty beds so we had to sleep on the little couches. The only video I have of all of it is for purposes it's 30 seconds and we hadn't even discovered most of this I wanted a time stamp to be when we got there. I would give anything if I had to taken more pictures and video, but from the time that I stopped that video until 3:00 a.m. I was on the phone arguing with him trying to get out of that cabinet. They did relocate us to a cabin almost an hour away the next day. Talk to an ice lady on the phone who promised several times and said she gave me her personal number supposedly they were going to send me a reference email and everything. None of this ever happened. Gave him 24 hours before I called back to even ask and it was dead air and got hung up on after that. Not only that our last day there the cleaning crew comes in early and tells us we have to get out. They wouldn't even go to another place or give us time they sat in their vehicle in the driveway until we left. This was before I check out time or I wouldn't put it on my review. I would not put any of this on my review if it wasn't 100% true because I take this serious. That's why I'm in the top 10% in the world on Google reviews. I don't leave too many this long at least and negative. However this was my engagement trip to get engaged to my beautiful girlfriend. However she was completely disgusted and it got ruined because in the midst of complaining I mentioned it was an engagement which was overheard. It's kind of hard to turn around and ask someone to marry you when there's puking the sink, used condoms in the trash can, and feces in the toilet. Also if somebody spends $100 or $1,000 it should not matter. We spent a lot on this trip, and spent a week. I would definitely never recommend this company, or consider staying again myself. For the end of this novel I'll even mention that I showed up at the local office and was treated rudely ,and no one helped. With a snark remark I was offered the job of the local regional manager because he had just quit"

"My car was trapped on a rental property for over 17 hours without help from HQ or the local property manager. They say they are looking into it, then completely dead air from them. They are a subpar short-term rental provider at best. They provided a partial refund for the inconvenience."

"I am not big about leaving negative reviews but I feel like I should be honest for others not to spend their money for this listing. Or for any of their listings . While the location is very private and secluded, the house is very dirty and smelly, multiple amenities broken and or not working. Walking into the house it smells very stagnant and musky. There was dog poop in bags left on the downstairs deck. The screen door had a blown out screen, with no a/c, ment we had to open the screen and windows to allow air flow and allowed many bugs inside. The stairs to the dock were very unsafe to use due to a broken joist that is unfastened. A very big complaint was the inoperable 40 year old electric stove when it came time to cook dinner! A very nosey and inebrereated neighbor that was banging on the side of the house to get my attention to ask how long my stay was! Multiple lights out. lip stains on glassware and dirty dishes in the cupboard! This place is not ready for the public to enjoy in my opinion, disappointed. I would avoid any VACASA rentals through their website and through the AirBnB website. I learned the hard way. Hopefully the people that read this can save some stress and money. I have requested a partial refund it and has been denied! Very poor customer service that has a call center what seems to be India?"

"See all the recent 1star views and Stay Away! Save yourself money and stress and rent from another host. You will get no or a completely generic response from someone who doesn’t speak English very well. No problem resolution and extremely poor maintenance and cleaning from this company. I normally don’t leave 1 star reviews, but my experience renting from this company was terrible. The home was filthy and there were numerous serious safety issues within, including a melted outlet which was a clear fire hazard. There were bugs both alive and dead everywhere and the windows and screens were disgusting. Pictures were not reflective of the actual property. There was so much hair in the drains for tubs that when you showered the tub backed up. The furniture smelled and was extremely worn. Stay away from any of their listings."
