"I love Portland. I was born here and have lived most of my life here. I'm heavily invested in this city. I've done thousands of hours of volunteer work for Northwest Pilot Project, Transition Projects (known as Burnside Projects when I was helping them), and Outside Inn. But PDX land has fallen so far. Homelessness, crime, failing infrastructure make it both sad and dangerous to be downtown. At the time of this posting Willamette Week, a local newspaper, had an article comparing Portland to American cities of similar size. We didn't fare very well."
