"TL;DR: Our visit to Shoreline Veterinary Hospital was disappointing. Dr. Reddy seemed uncomfortable handling our cat, rushing through the consultation and recommending expensive tests without thorough explanation. The lack of compassion and professionalism, combined with dismissive responses to our concerns, left us frustrated. We'll be seeking a second opinion elsewhere for our cat's health issues. After noticing some concerning coughing issues with our cat, we went to Shoreline Veterinary Hospital for assistance. Regrettably, our visit left much to be desired. It seemed that Dr. Reddy seemed uncomfortable handling cats. Rather than engaging directly with our pet, they instructed us to hold her, he even critiquing our technique and raising voice while suggesting we were causing her discomfort. As pet owners, we naturally expected when going to the vet, the doctor and nurse to take the lead in handling our cat, especially in what can be a stressful situation. Their failure to do so left us feeling disoriented and frustrated. Despite this, the consultation proceeded hastily, with minimal interaction between the vet and our cat. Instead of offering reassurance or guidance, the focus seemed to be on rushing through the appointment. The examination lasted ~ 30 seconds, and without much discussion, the vet promptly recommended a costly radiograph ($420) and blood test ($300), totaling $800 (+$80 for the 30 seconds exam). When we asked for more information or clarification, Dr. Reddy got offended and even suggested denying us further services, which was incredibly unprofessional and concerning. This experience is so much contrasts with the compassionate care we've received at other clinics, where the staff showed care and compassion towards our pets. During our visits there, they would clean their hand thoroughly, wrap our cats in blankets, feed them, pet them, and offer comforting words, which made the experience much more pleasant for both us and our pets. To mek matters worse, when we expressed our intention to seek a second opinion due to the exorbitant estimate, a nurse nonchalantly dismissed a $170 component as unnecessary, highlighting a lack of attention to detail and potentially unnecessary expenses. Overall, we left feeling frustrated and dissatisfied with the level of care and service provided by Dr. Donapaty, Sreenivasa (Dr. Reddy). We'll be seeking a second opinion elsewhere to address our cat's health issues."
"It's incredibly frustrating dealing with animal hospitals now. Throwing unexpected fees and costs at clients. I came here today to update my dog in 2 optional vaccines. As a new client I was told over the phone it would be $35 per vaccine, great. I get there check in fill out some forms. Doctor Reddy comes in checks my dog's heart rate and teeth and tells me my 2 yo dog is showing signs of seizures because his saliva is a bit foamy. A quick Google search shows that foamy saliva is common in dogs that may be stressed. I even wrote on a form under "behaviors we should be aware of" that my dog gets excited/anxious in new places, also it's an animal hospital, not uncommon for a dog to get anxious. The doctor proceeded to try and convince me to do blood work and do a deworming test. No. Not what I came here for. Just the 2 optional vaccines. Then a staff comes and tells me I'm being charged $85 for an exam... I said no, I didn't ask for an exam, I schedule for 2 vaccines. I even told multiple staff and the doctor before the "exam" that my dog is young and healthy, was doing great, and I didn't have any serious concerns about his health, which was shown on this forms I had just filled out. So really no need for an exam, again I came in for 2 OPTIONAL vaccines. Also checking a dog's heart beat and looking at his teeth is hardly a full health examination. I told them I did not feel comfortable paying for the exam as this was not disclosed when I called and made the appointment or when I came in and filled out paper work or when the staff brought me back, or when the doctor came in. COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR CLIENTS. It's not unreasonable to have new clients do an exam. BUT TELL THEM THIS AND WHAT THE COST IS. The staff tried to place the blame on that there were newer staff who may have made a mistake. Unacceptable, not only is that a failure on that new staff but also whomever trained them, and again there were multiple opportunities to say this. This isn't the first time I've dealt with vets trying to charge me for things I didn't ask for or was notified of. Do better."
"Dr. Sharon is a true gem and the staff here is wonderful. The office is cute and clean. We have been clients here for many years and highly recommend."
"Brought my old pug here because of an anal gland infection he had and we are from out of town. They were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Thank you!"
"Dr. Wilson has been my vet for many years and hands down, one of the kindest and smartest Dr's I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. She truly cares about each and every animal she treats and just as much about the owners. When it comes to treatment or treatment plan, I love the way she provides detailed options and it really feels more like a partnership. She spends all the time needed weighing options and talking things through to ensure I am well informed to make the decisions for their highest and best care. (Did I say she's super smart??) :) She just has a special way with her furry friends and is always calm and patient. The staff at Shoreline has been just as great! they are all extremely helpful, kind, responsive and when there is a sense of urgency- they are on it. I absolutely know my animals receive the best care here with Dr. Wilson and staff and I would never just take them anywhere to be seen by just anyone. ♡♡ I am a very grateful dog and cat mama!"
