Dutch Maid Laundry & Dry Cleaning

"I decided to edit my review & be more specific since the company appears to want to make improvements. When I called I asked if they do dry cleaning & military uniforms. The response was "yeah, its a dry cleaning place". Which, I had just called a company who did not do dry cleaning though their business popped up under my google map search "dry cleaning". I proceed to ask if she can tell me how they press the Navy dress white uniforms. Her responses were all answered quickly & arrogantly as "we press them like they're supposed to be" and "I've been doing it for 6 years". She really seemed to be going out of her way not to offer any knowledge on the uniforms and answer my questions condescendingly. I said "I'll go somewhere else, thank you" & hung up. I went to Thrifty Cleaners of Anacortes who also pick up uniforms from the Clinic on base to launder. Based on my experience, and several reviews, the staff is bringing down the quality of the company. More kindness, willingness to help, and respect from the employees might make all the difference. For now, I will stick with Thrify Cleaners."

"Expensive. Also... the machines that take debit/credit charge an extra dollar fee, that they don't tell you about, that shows up on your statement. Always sketchy people in or around the building. No bathroom, or rather, they keep it locked."

"Had a zipper put on a shirt which was inexpensive, quick and flawless. Took in a vintage tablecloth with an old dark stain- they got most of it out (that was incredible because it had sat there for ages). Always pleased!"

"When help is around great. But increasingly I find myself using a touchy machine & I have no one to complain to about it. Also, I've lost at least 4 quarters to the machines. I love the super-sized loaders. They've gotten old, old stains out after I spot treated the old stains and tossed them into these machine. Fantastic huge new washers. But some of the driers are marginal and take extra time to do same job as a better drier in same location."

"Holy Wow! I came up from Freeland to use this laundry mat. The one in Langley was grungy and cost more. I'm not even sure my clothes got that clean there. The extra effort and gas definitely paid for itself by what I saved in laundry costs. Washers were $2.75 for a standard load, and the dryers were $1.75 for 49 minutes (25 cents per minute!) and took 2 loads worth. The staff was already gone as I was coming in at a later time (9pm to close), so I can't comment on that. Can't comment on the bathroom either. First impression though, were very friendly and helpful fellow customers. I even think I would feel comfortable leaving my clothes for long enough to do an errand or two while in town. I was also delighted at how clean and welcoming the space was. There are definitely plenty of machines to use, even for the larger town that Oak Harbor is. The machines were also very spacious, clean, moderately new (2 or 3 years old maybe?), and of good quality. Folding tables, floors, and chairs were all clean as well. Negatives? Long travel from Freeland made for a much longer chore time. The chairs are the hard kind with a hollow that scoops around your back & butt. Not terribly comfortable. However, they have a beverage vending machine. Bring your own snacks though. :p"
