"After doing some research about local acting classes, a friend inspired me to take Brooke’s six-week introductory course (3 hours weekly). I got a lot out of it. It’s a well-structured course that included warm up exercises, microlectures, writing and improvisation. Everything culminates in performing a scene for the class, and seeing yourself on camera. The setting is a cool little theatre that feels like just the right size for 15 people. It definitely felt like a safe and supportive environment to give and receive feedback about your performance, a confidence-building experience. I think I got some kind of mental health group therapy benefits from this class! Brooke works well with students of all ages. Our class included everyone from teens to folks in their 60’s. Her class is playful and fun! She’s a valuable resource to other opportunities in the industry if that’s your goal."

"The Intro to Acting class is my first class at The Shoebox. Even if you are generally comfortable with others this class will pull something out of you that you did not know existed.
