"Kept billing us without the option to stop the auto-billing. We called them several times during the COVID shutdown to stop the auto-billing and their phone lines were closed. There was no way to cancel online. Their voicemail said they would respond to emails upon re-opening. How weird is that! So, that basically left us no way to stop the auto-billing or request for a refund. Now upon reopening, months later, they put us under time pressure to either use the auto-billed classes or lose it. We did not feel it was safe for our child to return in the pool. CDC guidelines state that you should not be in the pool within 6ft distance of a person outside your family. When our child does not know how to swim and given these CDC guidelines, we did not want to return to swimming yet. They never refunded us for the classes we were auto-billed for. What’s worse is that they argued why we should send our child even when we explicitly said we don’t think it’s safe."
"Update: changed review from 1 star to 5 stars, previous review at the bottom. I have to acknowledge the sincere effort to fix the problems I mentioned below by the management. After agreeing to retrial lessons we have had a really good experience. Contact and bookings are easier, and interaction is much smoother. Our new coach Cami is amazing and has done a fantastic job with our 5 year old. We can see the improvement with each lesson. The cost is still expensive, but I feel like it is a bit more justified. Old review: Pros: I'll start by saying that the facilities and pools are good. Cons: Unfortunately a lot more in this department: 1. Communication/ Contact: It is nearly impossible to speak to anyone outside of driving to the place and hoping whoever is on duty can help you. Weeks of unanswered emails and phone calls prior to enrolling before we heard anything. 2. Management: As has been mentioned in other reviews, it seems management policies at this Swimlabs leave much to be desired. They are fine with last minute cancellations of our lessons, but when we try to cancel because our son is sick, they force us to forfeit our very expensive lesson fees or make him swim while sick. When pressed they said they will only allow it with a doctors note which is a ridiculous requirement. As a parent I'm not going to take my kid to the doctor for every cold, but I am certainly not going to risk pneumonia by making him swim while sick. 3. Price. They charge an extremely exorbitant rate compared to other schools and for that premium we expect an absolutely premium experience which we have definitely not seen."
"My daughter was taking swim lessons here and it was going fine. However two weeks ago I got an email saying that her class has been cancelled. I called there to verify what was going on and I was told on phone that she still has two more classes and then the classes were cancelled. She could go back to parent and tot or take private lessons. A few days later my credit card is charged for another month's worth of classes even though we don't have anything on our schedule. I thought I would talk about it when I go for the last class. Fast forward to the day of the last class, my daughter and I get there, and so does the other family who do the same class and THE DOOR IS LOCKED! And there is nobody there. I called them to later to talk about it (looking for a time they're supposed to be open per Google). It said that they were busy assisting another customer and I could leave a detailed message with my phone number and I will get a call back. Guess what, I didn't get the call back. Really really unprofessional."
"It is a good facility if you are introducing your child to water and some beginner lessons. Or the ability to record your stroke makes it worthwhile for advanced swimmers. Not for the in between skill level. The private lessons are priced too steep and are honestly not worth the cost. Also limited options for schedule and make up lessons. Some instructors are good but not consistently. Seems to have a high turnover. Shower facilities are pretty limited and poorly maintained."
"SwimLabs is fantastic!! I'd taken my kids (then 3 and 6) to another private pool to take lessons and they ended up not even wanting to get into the water. I waited a bit then took them to check out swimLabs. The pools are small and warm and not too deep with benches all the way around. They have current machines that allow you to develop endurance as you move up. They agreed top try it out so we started them together in private lessons. My son, 8 at the time, only needed a few lessons to get comfortable and start learning. It took my daughter, 5, a bit longer but at least she wasn't afraid to get in. We were able to switch instructors until we found some they both liked. Once they'd both gotten the basics down they moved into the small group classes. Nearly a year later they are both doing amazingly well and I plan to keep them there as long as they want! SwimLabs is great for beginners and even kids who are afraid of the water and parents can watch the classes on monitors in the seating area. I can't recommend them enough!"
