"I cannot express enough how incredible my experience has been at Dragon Star. The instructors are not only highly skilled but also remarkably patient and kind. They tailor their teachings to your individual pace and ensure you're learning only what you're ready for. I came from a previous style of martial arts but was incredibly nervous to start kung fu. It’s difficult as an adult to make changes like this, but everyone has been so kind and encouraging, while patiently listening to me babble my way through the nerves. The atmosphere at the dojo is nothing short of amazing. It's a welcoming and family-focused environment and the sense of community is strong, making it an enjoyable place to train and grow. The support system in place is truly exceptional. Sifu Tom and Sifu Tommy are fantastic teachers and there are always other sifus and black belts ready to assist newer students, and what's even more amazing is the lack of gatekeeping and egos. Fellow students readily offer help when needed, creating a collaborative, and encouraging learning environment. Sifus are meticulous in their guidance, ensuring that every movement is purposeful and effective. They don't just go through the motions; they genuinely want to help you become a skilled martial artist. Promotions are earned, not given, but rest assured, they provide all the support you need to reach that next level. If you're looking for a kung fu dojo that values patience, community, diverse training, and genuine skill development, look no further. This place is not just a martial arts school; it's a home for those passionate about personal growth and martial arts excellence. Side note: I do not have children, but the kids’ classes are right before the adults, so I frequently see the kids’ classes going on. If I had littles, this is 100% the place I’d want them. They treat them with kindness, respect, and dignity. I am constantly impressed with their ability to teach them as though they would adults, while also remembering that they are just kids."

"Switched our son to Dragon Star from another studio over 4 years ago. I can’t say enough good things about Sifu Tom. They prepare you for real world situations, not just going through the motions. The most genuine people you’ll ever meet. My son, husband and daughter are all enrolled and I just recently started tai chi classes. They’re always having events for kids, like movie nights, Halloween parties, etc. You can be yourself here without fear of judgement. It’s definitely a safe place. "We love Dragon Star Kung Fu! Our kids really enjoy learning this style of martial arts and they have a lot of fun doing it! Sifu Tom and Sifu Tommy are great with the kids! My son has ADHD and can be a handful at times. They are so patient with him all the time teaching him focus and discipline. There are mega schools out there for martial arts with 30+ kids on the floor, at all levels, but that’s not this school and that’s what we love about it. Less students on the floor, with only kids around their skill level, makes a perfect learning environment and personalized attention! We love our Kung fu family at Dragon Star Kung Fu and would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a school where your kids will be safe, nurtured and taught the discipline, respect and technique of Kung fu!"
