"Been going to the airshow for years and this year was the worst show I've seen. I wouldn't even call it an airshow. We had some fly by warbirds and a few other planes. Very underwhelming and I won't be back. Not sure what the difference between the old fly in and skyfest are but skyfest was a true disappointment."
"I have gone to many air shows, I have even worked several shows. But I have never seen one so poorly set up for entry as this one. First, finding the entrance to the green gate was very difficult. There were NO signs on the highway to direct you to the entrance. Once you find the entrance (I drove by it 3 times) the sign saying Green entrance was set up with the face of it parallel to the highway! My granddaughter just happened to see it as we drove by. Second, once inside there was NO signs or anyone to direct you where to park. The instructions that I was given was “follow the car in front of you”. There was no adults out there to help the kids (they were Sea Scouts I think). One even asked “why are we getting so many cars for the Green area down here?” We simply “followed the car in front of us” until they parked, we parked next to them and called it good. Then after the airshow was over we decided to leave (my granddaughter wasn’t feeling well, too much sun I think), we called the early release number, told the woman where we were parked, info on our car, she said that someone would be there to escort us out right away. I waited 15-20 minutes, no one showed up, so I called back, she told me this time, that “I could drive myself out the same entrance that I came in”. Why couldn’t she have told me this the first time that I called? The airshow itself was pretty good. I especially enjoyed the warbirds flying. It was a shame that the hot air balloon’s could not inflate but things like that happens. I have not decided yet if we will come back next year. But I do know if the things that I mentioned above are not addressed and corrected, I will not come back and I will recommend to all of my friends not to attend as well. It’s not fair to the volunteers that were working there to have to deal with people who are upset because the organizers of the show don’t have people out there who know what is going on. Or because things are so poorly marked."
"We went to Skyfest 2022 on the recommendation of friends who have been going for years. I've been to many airshows and this was a huge disappointment. They should have emphasized that people should bring their own food because there were too few food trucks for the crowd and after spending over an hour in one line, we gave up and spent an hour in another only to find out they ran out of food. You could not leave and return so we were hungry and one of our party couldn't take his meds without food. A family parked next to us did not bring their own food and they had small children. They gave up and had to leave. This made for an uncomfortable day. Everything was very spread out but the "shuttle" was always full so this was not an event for anyone who could not walk a considerable distance. We were in the "Blue" section which was the middle (mid-priced) tickets but that was too far away to hear announcements out of the speakers. You couldn't tell who was flying or when so we missed out on several flying acts unless we just happened to look up. There were too few cars to have called it a car show and not that many aircraft to see. The balloon show was cancelled due to wind which is understandable. The drone show was the only high point but it wasn't worth the wait. I doubt I will go again but take your own food and go late if you decide to try it."
"A big downhill from last years. Totally confusing organization of campsites. Nothing to do for kids. The whole area had one bouncy castle for the kids, the only kids activity for thousands of people. Nothing to do for adults. Limited selection of planes, expect to pay extra (???) to see some exhibits, why there’s a car show instead of a proper plane show, not clear to me. End result is very disappointed for the price and effort. Used to be a lot better, skipping next year."
"Excellent show! Amazing aircraft and automobiles."
