The North American Institute of Medical Herbalism, located in Portland, Oregon, is a leading institution in the field of herbal medicine. Whether you are just beginning your journey in herbalism or are an experienced herbalist looking to expand your skills, we offer a wide range of courses, programs, and seminars to help you achieve your goals.

Our comprehensive curriculum covers a variety of topics, including macro- and micro-nutrients, clinical nutrition, and herbal protocols for modern patients. We also offer specialized classes, such as "Working with the Heavy Cannabis User," which explore the medical uses of cannabis and dosing strategies.

Students have the option to earn certifications at different levels of herbalism, as well as a Diploma in Medical Herbalism through our affiliated school in New Zealand. We also provide on-site classroom and clinical training, including a residency in a teaching clinic, through our affiliated school in Colorado.

With a focus on sustaining the vitalist tradition of medical herbalism, we provide materials for self-study and ongoing faculty support. Upon completion of our courses, students receive a Continuing Education certificate to further advance their careers in herbal medicine.
