"Next to this historic marker is the historic Big Bethel Church cemetery. The marker and the cemetery are confined within a chain link fence marked as Government property. This is a busy winding road with a blind curve and a lot of trash. There is no safe place to stop to have a look. The cemetery includes many family members of the original landowners and farmers in the local area, dating back to 1865. Just across the reservoir bridge around the blind curve, is the Battle of Big Bethel Battlefield which includes a parking lot, trail and several signs and markers. and is open to the public. (Dec 2022, submitted request to Google Maps to have the cemetery added, however it was declined as it could not be verified. I assume the owner or caretaker would have to submit)"
"Find out how the North Carolina private went down; they sent the others on their way."
"Small but memorable."
"Small little park but a pretty great view out here. I'd say it's a great place for kids."
