"Went last month during the week and there was barely anyone in the park at mid day. The statue was placed by the Boy Scouts in 1950. It needs a little TLC... a few of the tips are bent or missing from her crown. In this same park is the Powhatan Stone from King Powhatan (1726-1865) and a plaque for the Chimborazo Hospital (1862-1865). There is some construction in the park, especially nearby this statue."
"Never knew this existed! Neat to see, could use some restoration- but check it out when your in Richmond!"
"Mini and unviable. Can't read plaque as there is a ton of construction just right around this statue although the rest of the park is in poor maintenance as well, the statue is fenced around you can't get to it"
"Very Cool to see! Don’t forget to look to the east for the stone that marks the spot of the original hospital!"
"Pretty cool. Who knew Richmond had a mini Statue of Liberty - it even includes the star shaped fort at the base! In Chimborazo Park, towards the edge of the hill. It’s behind the park building/museum."
