University of Portland 5000 North Willamette Boulevard, Portland, OR 97203

"I would not recommend this school if you have other options. The cost is ridiculous for what you are getting. The food options are very limited and get old fast, they are not accommodating if you have preferences or dietary needs other than a few vegan options (which aren't very good). The professors are nice for the most part but some of them give way too large of a workload for just one class. This university squeezes as much money out of you as it can, the housing cost for the dorms is way more than any of the apartments in the area and is not worth the price for just the one room you live in. Even the art classes have a $50 fee for supplies for the student, which is usually normal except that they still make you go out and buy your own supplies even though that is what the fee for the class is supposed to be used for. If I am buying all the supplies for projects then where is my $50 going? The supplies they do provide are cheap bulk tools and materials that are low quality, break easy, and hard to work with. Overall I would say the few pros this university offers are not worth the vast array of cons and problems. The University of Portland needs to step up their game and make some major changes if they wants to bring up the low enrollment rates and not jack up the tuition prices for other students to compensate."

"University of Portland is a very warm and welcoming community. The staff and professors are friendly, knowledgeable, and always eager to help. I have enjoyed the environment and safe campus. Since it is a small school, it caters to those that are looking for a more intimate setting, where counselors, staff, and professors will know your name. I highly recommend University of Portland! I loved the people there, everyone was genuinely kind and I met a lot of people that I could relate to. There was a decent amount of diversity there, so as a POC, it made me feel so much more at home."

"I attended this university for two years before COVID. Firstly, the good, the campus is beautiful, the social atmosphere is GREAT and you get a chance to actually know your professors. Now, the bad, during my time there, there were many students who left for reasons of affordability alone. This school often says they care about you, but I doubt it is true. I asked the financial aid office if they could provide any additional assistance, as both my parents had lost their jobs due to COVID. They didn't even bother replying. The also evicted all the students illegally when COVID started, giving us only a few days notice when Oregon requires at least 10 days notice. Lastly, the academics, the majority of my high school academics were more rigorous than the business school here. My hardest classes were theology classes. For the amount you have to pay, dont go here, go to PSU, and get a similar experience for half the cost."
