"The old iron smelter is a real piece of Lake Oswego (and Portland) history. The area was entirely redone and some very nice facilities added in recent decades. While it's become a good place for warm weather recreation and all, it has lost much of that "timeless" feel it used to have, when one could have the whole place to oneself and wander about for hours, going inside the smelter, hunting for obsidian along the riverfront beach, and exploring the trails across the creek (and even finding an old arrowhead or two if one was lucky and kept one's eyes peeled). This is all to be expected over time, and overall the changes made to the whole area (including the rest of George Rogers) have been quite positive and have made Lake Oswego and even better town."
"This is a beautiful park with sandy beach into the willamette. REALLY busy on days with sun making it over crowded. Very clean, BBQs and handicap accessible to beach."
"So cool a must see if your in the Area it is a major part of Portland and the northwest’s history and made such a huge difference I am always amazed at the technology that they came up with so long ago."
"Cool little history spot, lots of information and you can walk right up to see what is left."
"This point of interest is very interesting. Very nice park, river access, history information, and a very impressive structure. The displays were detailed enough to learn something from and concise enough to get through in 20 mins."
