"Teacher Julie and Teacher Tyler have created an amazing space on Bell Creek, in the deep woods along the banks of the Nooksack. Their approach to education and immersion in nature has been absolutely perfect for our son. We've attended from pre-school through first grade, and the curriculum, the space, and the teachers, are all excellent. Fresh air, mud puddles, and constant exploration provide the best classroom, and Julie and rest of the teachers are amazing. They're attentive to the specific needs of each of the kids as they develop at their own pace. We can't thank them enough!"
"My grandson loves attending Bell Creek Nature School. The teachers are phenomenal and really take the time to help each child flourish. His parents can’t wait to get his younger brother started in preschool too!"
"Bell Creek might be the best thing that ever happened to our kiddos (and us). We have two boys that are just a year apart and they've attended BCNS for 2 years now (for pre-k and now we have one in Kinder). Our boys frequently tell us they want to go to 'forest school' until they are in 15th grade and believe me, if it was an option, I'd want that for them too. We love hearing about what the day of learning brings. Sometimes it's 'I practiced my counting by collecting sticks at the river and we learned about how beavers build dams' or 'Today we learned about the salmon and we watched an eagle catch a salmon swimming in the river'. I feel so grateful that BCNS allows our boys to learn in an environment that also nurtures them in other ways. Then the mud kitchen - my boys personal favorite. Mud kitchen is exactly what is sounds like. A pretend kitchen that comes to life the more mud there is. It makes for a heck of a clean-up at the end of the school day but my boys are never happier then when they get to make a birthday cake for their friend in the mud kitchen. Net/net - I can not recommend BCNS highly enough. The community of people, the teachers, the other kiddos, it's just a really special place that I'm so grateful we get to be part of."
"Bellcreek Nature School is fantastic! My daughter has been a student since preschool. In this time, they have stood beside her as she learns how to handle her big emotions, how to have empathy for those around her and this year learning about reading and writing. They are always patient with students and extremely communicative with parents; it's a community. I believe children excel when they can be outside and explore the world around them, Bellcreek offers this in abundance. I love hearing about the different plants she learned about, the salmon spawing in the creek and the eagles she saw in the trees. I'm so grateful I found this school; I can't imagine my daughter going anywhere else."
