"I bought a new Kona Rove in August of 2014, in August of 2023 I discovered a crack in the down tube. Kona has a lifetime warranty on their metal frames. It took me 3-1/2 months of emails, texts, and phone calls to finally get a warranty replacement. I tried to work with a local dealer, then went directly to Kona for 3 months. I would send multiple emails and texts each week. Finally in December they sold me a new bike at a reduced price. It was like pulling teeth in terms of effort and pain to get a new bike from them. A few days after getting my new Libre, Kona started a buy one get one free sale on bikes. So it obviously wasn’t about the money. I purchased my original Rove because of Kona’s quality reputation, but after this experience I will never buy another Kona product again. There are lots of other amazing bicycle companies that support their customers and honor their warranties without a fight. I am not impressed with the customer service from Kona after this interaction. I have since reached out to the customer service and sales teams with some additional questions and they will not return my emails. Do yourself a favor and buy a different brand."

"In July 2021 I bought a Kona Hei Hei CR from the dealer Fietsspecialiaalzaak Roelofs in Arnhem. on October 1 I found out that there was a crack in my carbon frame and took immediate action by bringing the bike to Roelofs in Arnhem. Kona indicated that they could deliver a new frame in December 2021. Unfortunately this could not be realized and I was given a loaner frame in two colors. February 2022 Kona promised that the new frame would come. Unfortunately, again not achieved. May 2022 it actually arrived. Unfortunately not made it. July mentioned that August it will actually come in. Finally in late September 2022 the frame is in at Kona and my bike is rebuilt. I find it really sad that this is how Kona treats customers who buy a new bike for a lot of money. Having to wait a year for a frame, on a 3 month old bike, for breakage. When I asked for a completely new bike, the answer was that they would not cooperate. The handling of complaints at Kona is beneath any measure"

"I have ridden various Kona bikes for almost 15 years. However, when we reached out to the company to ask if we could visit the headquarters for a tour they went from aloof to unresponsive after they promised to follow up with me. Compared to the half dozen other bike/parts manufacturers we have visited that was not at all what we expected. Everyone else was friendly and excited/eager to teach us about what makes their products unique. I have never needed to work with Kona directly before, but this experience will certainly have me shopping around at other brands for my new 2020 bike."
