"Great FREE place to visit and learn some of the history of Vashon. You can walk through in 15 minutes or browse for 90 minutes as we did. There are some interactive areas for children, but it’s likely not a place they’d be interested in for a long period of time. Make a donation if you thought it was a worthwhile visit."

"Small museum with large collection of artifacts from many aspects of the island's history. Convenient location close to the center of town. Recommended stop if you are visiting the island."

"This is a lovely small historical museum. There are several themes of the exhibits: history of the indigenous people, geology of Vashon Island (see pic, know your beach rocks!), oceanography of the Salish Sea, natural history of the animals that made it to the island, history of white settlement. Well worth a couple hours of your time."

"Very cool for what it is, a small island museum highlighting local and regional history. Go for the native American history of the island, all of us white people could learn a thing or two about how we screwed up in the past, and remember how we continue screwing up cultures and the planet in the present."

"I would’ve liked to have given this museum a ‘5’ but unfortunately when I got there it wasn’t open. I checked the website, which very clearly said because of COVID-19 the museum would be closed until mid -March. It then listed the hours it was open , Wednesday through Sunday, 1 to 4 PM . It was never updated from mid-March. I made a trip from Seattle just to see this museum. So If I ever get a chance to see this museum, I may update my stars, but since I can’t trust the website to give me accurate information about when it’s open, I’m not sure how I’m ever going to decide when to go back."
