"This was my first experience at The Ruins. Fairly easy to find, they had signs up since the building is at the dead end of a parking lot. I noted that it seemed people were driving slowly around the parking lot, and that there were signs behind every single parking spot, except the 5 or 6 right in front of the bldg. A car pulled out of a spot right in front, so I rolled over there and then I could see why they left. There was a fairly big pile of hard snow taking up half of the parking space. However, I was driving the Mini, so I backed in, with just enough room to still open my door and not hit the car next to me. I went inside and it was quite nice, with wooden floors and a nice decor. This was for a memorial, so after saying hi to friends and the widow, I checked out the food table which looked very well done. And it was, a nice selection of vegetables and some grapes, along with three different kinds of cut sandwiches pinned together with wooden spikes. They also had three different kinds of cookies, chocolate, ranger and molasses that were all about 4 inches in diameter. Cookies are always a hit or a miss at venues like this because well, some folks have never learned how to properly bake them. The cookies are often hard as a hockey puck, too thin, etc. These cookies though were still soft tasted great. So I give a hearty endorsement to the folks who prepared the food. It's my understanding that this venue is mostly used for weddings and such. A great place for these type of gatherings with one caveat, hence the reason for my down grade to four stars. I heard people talking about having to pay for parking outside and how the deceased wouldn't have been happy about that... :("
"What an amazing venue! It was mid 90s yet felt cool under the trees. Arrive early and you can snag a balcony chair."
"We had our wedding at the Ruins on 8/5/23 and it was an amazing experience! Ryan and Elody were great to work with leading up to the day and Michael was a great bartender for the evening - very friendly and personable! The ruins is a beautiful venue for a wedding. We had so many people complimenting our venue choice!"
"A great spot. Feels like a casual spot for locals and a rare treat with live upbeat music big enough to dance. There's a Grotto bar away from the dance floor if you'd like a bit of space."
"Very cool music venue. The music is good, they have 2 bar areas with one near the entrance and another through a wall opening where it is a little more private where you can talk easier with ample seating. The main bar serves beer, wine, cider. There is also a pizza truck outside, Solstice, where they sell by the slice or the while pizza. Many people dance on the floor in front of the band and everyone seems to be having a great time. Also is kid friendly because there were several families there."
