"A place where u feel it’s like heaven on earth from the nature beauty"
"This memorial, unique in its design, is a place of contemplation and remembrance. After entering up the linear walkway and passing under a curved bridge, the pathway winds around, first crossing that bridge, then along the continuing circular path are alcoves presenting not only the names of Oregon's losses in the Vietnam War, but also providing bits of local, state, and national history appropriate to the year(s) of each alcove. The final one lists the MIA's and provides a wonderful view of Mt. Hood and Portland to draw it all together. This is a very quiet, peaceful, wonderful place. Don't miss it when you visit the Zoo or the Forestry Center."
"As a Vietnamese, I pay my utmost respect to fallen American soldiers and thank them for their services. This park is nice with a circular architecture inside. I came here for a walk and wanted to learn more about the memorial. The trip was amazing and worthy."
"Beautiful memorial and interesting stories on each of the marble walls to commemorate and remember those fallen. Be sure to take the spiral path across the little bridge to take in each of them based on a timeline of the years of the Vietnam war with the names of all those fallen."
"The memorial was beautiful. I was bummed the smaller fountain before the memorial wasn’t working. The scenery it is set in is beautiful. The individuals and family’s did an amazing job working on this memorial and the garden around it. My father was a Vietnam veteran (although not from Oregon). It was very emotional to be able to take in the space and just sit for a few moments."
