"This place is NOT OPEN. In contradiction to what google and the actual Forest Service website says. Both Monday and Tuesday the 21st and 22nd of August 2023 they were closed for certain. A local clerk chuckled and said he never knew when they were open when I told him. I had to go over an hour out of my way to get the pass I needed and didn’t even get the one I wanted because I had been counting on getting it from that office."

"Great place to stop before heading up the road towards Lewis River Falls. Maps available here. Public restrooms are clean and kept up. There is a gift shop as well."

"This was a surprising and unknown absolute gem on our Mt. Saint Helens day excursion. The 2 rangers working we're knowledgeable. They were proud to be stationed there. In addition, the gift shop was awesome too. The most amazing aspect is the 21 minute video on the eruption, at no cost. Very well done movie with great footage of the actual eruption,"

"If you are traveling to see Mt St Helen's from the north via the US Forest Service Road, make sure you stop for information here. Maps and information at St. Helens is few and far between. The folks here were helpful and suggested places to stop. Also clean bathroom"
