"Love these pictures sent in email of the wildlife we saw on our excursion, even though we did not see orcas or other whales on our 1:30pm voyage. Was beautiful, sunny day. One suggestion: take pictures of people/families for each voyage. I love pictures and would have been nice to have family pic with beautiful ocean/islands in background. Will come again and spend night(s) on the island and use rain check!"
"We had a great time on the Odyssey and can only recommend to book a tour with San Juan Excursions. The team, including the captain and two naturalists, is lovely, kind and so engaged in what they are doing - it‘s amazing to see the excitement and learn about the nature and wildlife of the area. On our first tour we were not successful with Orcas, but we spent quite some time watching a humpback whale and seals. Thanks to the guarantee of actually seeing Orcas we were lucky enough to hop on the boat for a second time (thanks to the team for making this possible!). This time we couldn‘t have been more lucky - we saw Orcas twice, once a pod with 4 and the second time two pods with a total of 12 Orcas. It’s amazing to watch these majestic animals swimming and playing around - of course from proper distance. In addition to this great encounter, we spotted a total of three eagles, a group of Stellar sea lions, harbor seals and some Harbor porpoises. Thanks to the team for making this possible!"
"What a lovely time! My 2 friends and I booked this excursion in honor of our friend that passed away 4 years ago. She was an adventurer, always traveling and seeing the world and it’s beauty. Thank you to the amazing crew for providing this space for us to honor our friend and see a pod of 6 whales, as well as much other wildlife. Debbie was very informative and it was SO lovely to see her care and passion for the Salish Sea. The crew even provided binoculars for those without their own! Snacks were available for purchase too. Professional photographers captured the moment so we could just watch and enjoy. Can’t recommend this team enough!"
"This was my third whale watching tour in San Juan Islands but first time with them. It is easily the best tour we have had. We saw a family of five Orcas (T49A). They got pretty close to us too, giving us close up views. The boat is bigger than my previous tours, I was a little apprehensive it will be too big to properly see whales easily but it was actually really nice. Had plenty of covered and open seating space, good sized restrooms. They also lent us some binoculars elevating the experience. They have also promised to send pictures to us, so we could enjoy the experience and not worry about taking some good photos. This is a kid friendly boat too so you can take children of pretty much any age."
"The experience is definitely worth the 125$ ticket. The crew is very friendly and knowledgeable. We were able to see four Humpback whales, seals, bald eagle, and a porpoise. Watching the whales was so exciting. Disappointed that we couldn’t sight an Orca, but cant blame the crew for that. Plus they give you a raincheck for free (doesn’t expire) if you didn’t see a orca on your trip. So who knows, we may come back one day. Regarding the ship, the Odyssey has seats all around so you can walk around the vessel if you like. It also has restrooms downstairs. We sat outside on the front, for the whole time. It can get a little chilly with the wind, I would suggest bringing a fleece jacket and a cap. They do provide binoculars. You can also purchase coffee but i didn’t get it. I think the whole experience was 3-4 hours. They also will send pictures from the trip to your email in about a week or so."
