"To start off, I have worked with a lot of contractors and have come from a contractor family, so I have experience with the normal methods of operation. My problem with Dane K. Masonry relates to the aspect of "integrity" in their motto. Dane came to my house for a quote, and focused on the values he was a straight shooter and I could count on his word. After receiving a quote over the phone, I was ready to get started. In addition to masonry, I am also coordinating painters, and roofers, so timing was of the utmost importance to me. I asked Dane to send me a written scope of work/quote to make sure both of us were covered. I was told this would take a day or two. I called a week later and was told once again it would be out in a day or two. Then I waited another week to call, and finally I received a voicemail that he no longer wanted to do the job. I am not unrealistic in my expectations that people become busy and change minds, but this company wasted three valuable weeks of my time stringing me along that they would do the work. I am not questioning the quality of work this company is capable of, but values are demonstrated through action, not simply written in a motto. When a man says his handshake is his word, I expect that to mean something, and obviously in this situation, it means nothing."
