About Us

The Borough of New Eagle, located at 157 Main Street in New Eagle, Pennsylvania, United States, is a town rich in history that celebrated its centennial in 2012. Originally part of Carroll Township and the City of Monongahela, New Eagle was incorporated in 1912 and was once comprised of two distinct towns - Riverview and New Eagle/Bellwood. The town gets its name from the New Eagle Mine.
In its heyday, New Eagle was home to a local hospital, a riverside beach, an indoor swimming pool, a roller rink, an airstrip, a polo field, a streetcar park, two elegant hotels, a glass factory, various stores and businesses, and briefly, a steel mill. Today, the town features a marina, boat launch, park and campground along the river, a senior citizen's apartment complex, and a new war memorial.
