"Iconic Portland Theatre. It is a bit run down these days, but still comfortable with a state of the art sound system and big screen. They have a good beer selection and the popcorn is fresh and not over-buttered. Pizza is alright. If you haven’t been you really owe it to yourself to visit this historic space."

"Portland is home to several amazing theaters but for years the Hollywood has remained my favorite. My experience here is always fantastic, from the amazing staff, the fair prices for the delicious concessions, the excellent projection/audio quality and of course the great film curation. At a recent screening I attended there was some particularly noisy audience members sat behind me as all theaters will occasionally experience, but even this annoyance could not damper my enjoyment as the super friendly/helpful staff addressed the situation with extreme tact. I cannot express enough appreciation for everyone who runs this iconic staple of Portland!"

"This theatre housed in a beautiful deco building is one of portland oldest theatres, mind you the seats are modern and cushy. They have great film selction of all genres, aaaand they are a non profit theatre to boot, so you better believe they are here for the love of film."

"The Hollywood Theatre is a Portland institution and just a charming place to spend an evening. There is a real community feel - everyone is there to enjoy the film, nobody is a jerk about using their phones, etc. We saw The Lost Boys, and it was a great shared experience! Also, you can get a craft cider and pizza slice at the concession - the pizza is from Sizzle Pie and is AMAZING. Be sure to book ahead for your tickets as the theatre always fills up! Great place to see classic or niche films!"
