"I toured this building recently. It’s in a nice location in Ballard with lots of trees. Great amenities and fantastic rooftop deck. I inquired about a listing on the website. The rent amount I was quoted in person and over email was several hundred more per month than what is listed on the website. There’s also a Craigslist ad posted yesterday and today advertising the lower price. I was told the Craigslist ad is a mistake, too. This was disappointing. They could do better in regards to price transparency."
"I was a resident, until 6/6/2023, at one of your properties, here in Seattle, Washington. The property is Ballard Public Lofts and Market. I experienced many challenges living there in the last 11 months. I had attempted numerous times to reach someone at the corporate office only to be sent back to the property manager. She is not helpful and honestly quite lacking in customer service skills. I have now emailed Bob Faith (CEO) and Scott Berka (resident relations) hoping they can assist. While I did receive some concession from Aaron Hansen, who is no longer employed at Greystar, a larger issue arose as I was moving out. My new $ 849+ tax Trek bike was stolen from the property. It was locked in a bike locker room requiring a key to access and which is distributed by the manager. Not only is the locker locked depending on the time of day, but it also requires accessing two garage gates with a remote. They should reimburse but are refusing. I didn't expect any better from the manager or this company. So, I’m not shocked but will say this is not over. This review will be met with responses because as the manager has told me, poor reviews cut into their bonuses. Here is the experience prior to this new incident at move-out. My expectations of a luxury apartment are that they pay attention to the person paying the premium price. That has not been my experience here. Yes, they address you with a smile for the most part, but in the end, nothing really changes. There is an air of passive-aggressive behavior that arises as soon as you complain. Let me tell you about my personal experience, and what has occurred. I moved into a very small unit. About a month after moving in noise above me was so loud that it would jolt me awake in the middle of the night. I complained for at least a month, and nothing changed. Finally, the manager offered me a larger apartment at the same price, but I had to pay to move (cost ~$1,000). I chose that option because I needed sleep. I also pay $35 a month for each of my two pets and $165 additional to park in a gated garage. Supposedly this garage is secure but during my time here there has been a break-in to at least one car in the gated garage and most recently my new car with less than 6500 miles was damaged on the bumper. This is because management chose to assign three SUVs to parking spots right beside each other. These spots are more for compact cars even though they have compact spots as well. As for the pet fee, I assumed it was for the use of an amenity on top of the roof specifically for pets. Some of the neighbors here never clean up after their dogs so for the first 4 months it was nothing more than a receptacle for dog waste. My dogs have been sick twice which has cost me over $500 to treat them. I have complained constantly about this and yes there has been some change so hopefully, that will remain intact for the current residents. One neighbor confronted a homeless man on the rooftop tenant-only area. He forced him to leave, but there has yet to be an explanation as to how he was able to breach several keypads and gates. The security consists of cameras which the team doesn’t like to go through and a “security guard” who visits sometimes and walks the premises taking pictures of clocks to show he was there (all elevators and gates require a fob so we still don’t know how he accessed a tenant only area)."
"My significant other and I were only residents for about 5 months, as we were planning on heading overseas before COVID-19. The front desk staff, as well as Lance in maintenance, were incredibly helpful and friendly and truly accommodated us from touring the building, to move-in to move-out and everything in between. Neighbors in the complex were quiet and cordial - which was a nice departure from other apartments we've lived in in past. It's also very conveniently on the 40 bus line and walking distance from anything you could ever need. Thank you, Ballard Public, for being our place to figure out what our next step should be in the midst of a pandemic. You certainly kept us calm!"
"My boyfriend and I lived here for a year with our dog. We are sad to leave. For those that love Ballard, this is a perfect location. A close walk to downtown Ballard while still being a quiet building. There are plenty of close by coffee shops and restaurants within walking distance. The furnishings are beautiful and well thought out. The rooftop area is gorgeous. The building is quiet and all of our neighbors were friendly and respectful. Building management was also prompt to respond to concerns."
"My wife and I have been living here for approximately a year and a half. We could not have been more blessed. This building is in an excellent location, walking distance to the hustle and bustle of Market Street as well as the beauty of Golden Gardens. My favorite thing about this place as well is the cafe located on the first floor. Friendly staff and great happy hours 7 days a week."
