Vintage at Silverdale

"Absolutely horrible experience attempting to look at an apartment! There were two police cars idling out front of the office. There was a personal vehicle idling outside the office. All of the parking was full… Including the handicap parking. There was no where to park for visitors. The building needs a lot of work and is very run down. There’s garbage all over the place. And in order to even get into the office to talk to somebody, I had to buzzer buzzer… And wait. Only to be told that they could not deal with me right now because they were in a meeting. I told the guy that I was speaking to that that was fine… It’s probably not the right place for me. This doesn’t appear to be an independent living situation. And it looks like there’s not a lot of care that goes into it. This place is over priced!"

"I have lived here since 2011. It is a nice building with nice ammenities: an indoor pool, game room, two lounges and three outdoor patios plus a courtyard. The location is nice and convenient to shopping, medical facilities and restaurants. The premises is kept nice and they respond fairly quickly to service requests. The staff are nice. I am updating my review (Feb 2024) because things have changed, unfortunately for the worse. FPI manages this building and it has really gone downhill. The carpeting throughout the building is dirty with many spots. My main issue however is with the lighting in the social room which is for the use of all residents. At night, management has some misguided idea that the brightness the lights left on at night will ensure better security. I disagree. If a place is lit well enough to see that is sufficient. I live in the wing facing the social room. At night it is so glaring bright it's lit up like football stadium and that is not an exaggeration. It is an annoying nuisance to put it mildly. I wrote a letter to the management about the problem and asked them to dim the lighting at night. It has been a couple of weeks with no response. I inquired about my letter and they said they're discussing it. Still, no action has been taken. They don't seem to care about the residents' comfort . These photos show what I have to look at all night long when I am not sleeping. My quality of life has suffered."

"I haven't had any problems here at the Vintage. I do know that others have but I can't and won't speak for them. I enjoy the camaraderie of the groups I've joined and the party's that have been thrown. The Vintage is a good place. Cqn it be better, yes. I would like to see this place go far but it'll take the work of both staff and residents to do so. Together this place can shine...!"

"I absolutely love it here. I never give a five-star rating because there's always room for improvement. Maintenance 90% of the time is Johnny on the spot, but when you have 238 apartments it's very hard to get to everyone in a timely manner. There are a lot of options to keep you busy here. On the downside, the pool has been closed for a couple of months now due to the fact that they're emergency phone is not working has to be replaced and it hasn't been done in a timely manne . I am not going to go pointing and easy to talk to. at whose fault that is because I don't work in the office. I don't know the day-to-day problems that arise. I just know that the phone is very old and all the wiring has to be ripped out and replaced. I'm not knowledgeable to even begin to know how long that takes. I just think 2 months is too long to have a pool out of order, especially when you have 238 apartments that are using that pool. And if that's the only issue I have, that's not too bad! Like I said, I love living here. Management are sweet and nice and kind and personable management are respectful and kind"

"On 10/11/23, they closed the pool because the 911 phone did not work. Here it is 1/5/24, snd the phone still doesn’t work. They can put a man on the moon and bring them back but you can’t fix a simple phone. This pool is important to the residents for physical therapy. I think no matter what it takes, phone company or wyfi, fix the phone and open the pool."
