Marketplace Apartments

"I have lived here for 21 ( 2002 ) years & if I could afford to move, I would have a very long time ago. Not family oriented home, nor is it safe. the quality of these apartments is declining. Maintenance it's not very helpful (no fault on them) either because the ones we do have decided to leave. There is just too much work for them to keep up. My neighbors car got broken into, and a few other cars got keyed really badly. Packages at your door get stolen. I had to buy a camera for that reason. The office is always closed. A lot of times, the doors are locked during business hours even though they're not busy. Someone got towed less than 6 hours after being parked cause he didn't have any pass. He couldn't get one cause (surprise) the office was closed. if you call them about possible illegal stuff on property and still haven't done anything for weeks. It's a problem. it's at your own risk if you put something on your patio cause something could get stolen. The current management, (Natalia)including the front desk, ( I don't remember her name- older one)arent the friendliest either. Usually, you say " bye" before hanging up. ( common courtesy) Or dont let people wait in the lobby for a bit of time cause you're on your personal phone. Or barely answering calls, when someone is calling. I literally was sitting in the office with my caregiver for over 5 minutes while the assistant manager was chillin in her office on her phone. I called when i was in the office, and she didn't answer, so i knocked on her door. She finally got off the phone and helped me with an attitude. I hate going in the office or calling cause they make me feel very unwelcome. I have a disability & management always makes me feel uncomfortable if I had a problem, especially when I sometimes don't understand a situation. Even tried to gas light me when I asked her why she was so standofish. ( Natalia) As far as the area. There is so much crime. The only improvement here is less police. Then again, they've come here so many times they're probably tired of responding. The pool is almost always closed for the short time it is open. The gym has equipment over 15 years old & some don't work properly. Basketball via BBQ area is over 10 years old. Pipes breaking. Leaks in the walls. Black mold, rodent, & Flea issues. Electric problems. Feces all over the apartments, The major issue i had was management waiting 6 months to let you know you owe money. The office apparently never got my money orders, which has turned into a disaster. Was told not to pay my rent early cause it causes confusion. I was shocked by that statement tbh. In actuality, I wish i never got the credit. So many numbers were thrown at me. i didn't understand, nor did my caregiver. I honestly believe there was an error on their end. Housing even questioned it. I gave up fighting it, so i paid it. But this should have NEVER happened at all. I literally had a panic attack cause I'm so good with my rent."

"January 2024, management isnt taking in consideration of clearing up the icy and slippery sidewalks and entry ways of the units. Management is poor and aren't doing their jobs, lazy and ignorant of their responsibilities!!"

"The main office works very poorly. It is impossible to achieve any action. You need to call and remind them several times to do some basic task. And there may also be a surprise when they call us a year later and say that we owe a day in advance for a month. Save all receipts for payment, otherwise you may pay twice like we did."

"The management here is questionable. They allow my neighbor to harass me and my family they make up stories about me smoking in my house and send me complaints constantly when we don't smoke in our home at all. We are compliant in every way but no matter what they find something to leave a note on my door about. I've complained about my neighbor who shouts at my kids. Threatening us with calling the cops every time she sees us. Our complaints go unheard and unchecked yet we get notices for things that are untrue. If you are a POC I highly recommend not moving here"

"Sadly to say these apartments aren't safe! Terrible area, lots of homeless, robbers, low life people). There's been gunshots previously, and cars are broken into/robbed. The fact that you're required to have a parking permit is useless since random people(not residents) always come parking at night, and the residents then don't have a spot to park! It's ridiculous. Management isn't doing anything about it. There isn't any surveillance around for safety either! Quitting this ghetto cheap place that's not worth living in for such terrible circumstances, especially with kids! Only the rent is going up twice a year, and for what improvements? Also, overall apartment don't get remodeled in any way, everything old and barely working."
