"It seems there is no other way to get management's attention than to write a poor review. I've left several emails and two voicemails with no response. So here goes. I should state at the outset that I did not live at the complex, but my daughter did. I was the guarantor of her rent for the time she was there (18 months). So I can't speak to the living conditions. But when the time came for her to move out and receive her deposit back, we got back only $92 from a $350 deposit, which included a pet deposit. The management of the complex has not sent to me any documentation whatsoever detailing why they retained so much of this deposit, and has failed to answer any of my requests to obtain documentation. No one ever answers the phone, and it seems that the office has no one in it most of the time it's supposed to be staffed. All that I have asked for is an invoice or an accounting of the reasons why $258 was not returned. My daughter had the apartment professionally cleaned before she moved out. All I want at the moment is to get the details - in writing - as to the justification for retaining the $258. Transparency is the issue here - management is not being transparent at all about this matter. This is always the largest matter of contention when renting - getting your deposit back in a transparent and honest fashion. It's better in Brooklyn; my son rented an apartment in Brooklyn Heights, and had to move much sooner than expected, breaking his lease. His landlord not only let him out of the lease, he returned the full amount of the deposit ($1685.00). I would have thought Olympia would do better than Brooklyn, but apparently not. I would not recommend anyone live or rent here due to this lack of transparency. If you do, be sure to document everything, or management will skin you for most of your deposit in the end. I will update this review if I get some sort of satisfactory response. And I have a suggestion for management - get better customer service! The number of one-star reviews here should tell potential renters that something is rotten in the state of Cooper Point. EDIT 1/26/24 - I tried the number given in the owner response below, but after three tries, I just get summarily cut off. No ring, no answer, no way to leave voicemail. I've also called the Park office and, again, no one answers. Left a voicemail. The Park manager did respond to me via email, and I answered the email, but no response after 24 hours. EDIT 2/7/24: Management has still not contacted me to discuss this situation. The number listed in the owner's response does not work, and the manager's office at The Park has not returned any of my efforts to discuss this matter. They have my contact information, so it seems they are probably hoping I will just go away. And I will, because ultimately my time is more valuable than the amount of money in dispute. Just be aware that when you move out, they will charge you a cleaning fee regardless of the condition you leave the unit in ($210. in my case), so don't bother to do any deep cleaning. To be fair, I did get a small portion of my deposit back ($92), so not a total loss. But the sheer fact that you can't get anyone to call you back, reply to your emails, or talk to you in any way is enough for me to leave the one star I left."
"I don't use the daycare, but I gave it a 5star just because I think it's amazing! Good job to those who made that possible. The onsite amenities are unbelievable! Also, with close access to the freeway and shopping depts, grocery stores and restaurants is just awesome! And the staff is amazingly friendly! I love The Park at Cooper Point and I'm going to suggest to family, friends or those looking for a place to call home.. this is definitely the one!"
"Office staff not responsive to emails or VM. Friendly leasing agent, but quoted rent kept increasing daily until lease completed. Fairly nice residence with amenities. Just moved in and so far everything works except access to mail and storage."
"I just moved in 2 days ago and the washing machine was broken and flooded my apartment I tried several times to contact emergency maintenance I'm about find another place also the land lord has unnecessary rules like no remote Amazon door lock Last thing the maintenance emergency number is disconnected if you don't believe me dial the number listed above and see if you can request emergency maintenance the pay system works fine UPDATE I changed my 1 Star rating to 3 stars because the new management is working hard to change things. Im able to install security measures to protect my residence from random people in the adjacent park. Second im able to install a remote lock on my door. This is all i wanted. Last the maintenance staff responds quickly and actually fix problems."
"These apartments have never been an apartment complex that really cares for the Tennants. Seems to be mostly $ motivated to bring in rent. Maintenance isn't easy to arrange with a simple phone call to the office. Those that desire maintenance have to fill out a form to request it. Which instantly disadvantages someone with visual challenges. The units seem to be tiny. Thin walls. Dark staircases. And at least 9ne group of apartment buildings is missing a dumpster for garbage (0hoto attached)."
