"This is our second tour of this daycare; Covid was very hard for this daycare, and we joined right as there was a very difficult transistion of directors. We left and went to a very highly rated daycare in the area, but due to various issues we decided to come back to Trinity. I am glad we came came back! There is such a huge difference in our experience. The director Karen seems to have made the changes necessary to make Trinity a really great daycare again. Our son struggles with 'playing nice' which this daycare seems to be actively addressing; his teacher has such fantastic control over the classroom. As soon as I saw her in her classroom I knew that she is exactly the kind of teacher my son needed. We are still working out what we can do to stop some of his behavior but there is constructive feedback at least. My son used to have temper tantrums/seperation anxiety at his last daycare, which is actually out of character for him, that has completely stopped since we started attending 6 weeks ago. He also struggled to get fully potty trained at the last daycare and since we switched he is pretty much fully potty trained. They actually have cirriculum here, other daycares say they do, but I can actually see how my kids are learning here, not just being babysat. Speaking to Karen, she really has fantastic knowledge of childhood development; it made me realize that I didn't get the same feeling from our previous director. They use an app to communicate and share pictures/vides, pay invoices etc. I feel much more connected with the teachers and what is going on. The teachers take the time to discuss any issues or questions at drop off or pick up. This daycare does look dated, but they are working to get grants to update the facilities; such as HVAC, flooring and paint, which will be great. The have a very good outdoor space for the kids. I look forward to when they are able to update their entry system, but it seems like a small detail compared to the quality of care that they are able to provide. Overall the switch back to Trinity has been a breath of fresh air that I didn't know I needed."
"Based on my experiences here, there were more pros than cons. Pros: 1. Not as expensive as other places. 2. Campus security is in the area (from the University a block down). 3. Church related education/environment. 4. The pastor(s) are nice overall. 5. They state that they clean every day (disinfect, etc.). Cons: 1. No cameras here. 2. Some of the teachers are not the friendliest or most caring. 3. No debit/credit card transactions accepted (which is fine for some). 4. The toys, classrooms, and play environment is somewhat old/used/outdated. You can tell most of the items have been used/handled NUMEROUS times and look worn out. 5. Multiple occasions, the teachers would use the diapers belonging to one child's property, on a different child. This also includes the child's clothes. Wrong items on the wrong child. 6. The lunches sometimes stay out all morning without being placed in the refrigerator (specifically if it requires to be in there). 7. The teachers are awful at communicating anything at all. Generally, this regards any activities the child did during the day, if any accidents occurred, etc. Horrible/lack of communication. 8. Numerous times, when it was real hot outside (90+ degrees), the children would be out playing for a while, but had lack of water and shade. To elaborate more, it was observed on various occasions how a child would be sweating profusely after being outside for a while and wasn't issued water to drink till some time after. 9. Big problem was that countless times, the children of different ages would be mixed in with eachother. Little ones with older ones. Specially in the mornings during drop off. 10. The daycare allows parents to go inside, sign in to pick up/drop off child. But usually when picking up, since it is so hectic, the teachers do not fully pay attention to the kids, who is picking them up, etc. A quick glance at certain times and nothing more. There needs to be a more elaborate safety plan in place. Based on everything stated from a nonbiased perspective, the cons simply outweigh the pros here. Wouldn't recommend."
"My child attended Trinity Lutheran's Childcare, Preschool and Pre-K program. The Director is one of the nicest ladies and you can tell she genuinely cares for all of the kiddos. They did lots of fun projects, field trips, visits from the fire department and my son was more than prepared to start school with everything they were taught. I highly recommend Trinity."
"I have been visiting the church for two weeks now, and although I do not consider myself a member of the church, I am impressed by the church's ministry and weekly efforts to follow their mission--helping those in need, and spreading the grace of God. They also serve a meal every Wednesday which all can enjoy, and provide rooms for the nearby university."
