"I can see by the reviews Forest Memorial still up to the same thing my family has been dealing with 10 +years. We bought our lots at Fairview when it first come in existence. We were duped by an unscrupulous salesman ,last name Smith, who came to our home selling markers etc. we told him at the time we were not ready and to get rid of him , we told him what we thought we may like, nothing final. Later we got a bill, still young and stupid we paid it , thinking it was just a security in place for us to choose in the future. Well fast forward 40+years to today , still nothing resolved after numerous calls, visits to their office, several manager changes , the best we could select , they still owed us over $400, which they would not return. It has been very stressful for us , to the point of leaving the place we had chosen as our final resting place with other family members. Please don’t deal with these people. They are liars and con artists."
"I just want to say that for a year my mother has heard one excuse/lie after another trying to get my father’s headstone. The lies started the day after he passed when someone was supposed to meet my mother at the graveyard to sign papers and they never showed up, never called, never text. He had been talking to her just a few hours before that but never told her he wasn’t coming. Tomorrow makes a year he has been gone and I know they have had the headstone for over a week but still not set. We were wanting to have a get together at his grave tomorrow but what is the point when there is no tombstone set. If we could do it all over again we would have went somewhere else. I have already been in contact with a lawyer because when she ordered the tombstone in October we were told 6-8 months and it was paid in full by the send week after he passed. I will NEVER do any business with this place again."
"My parents and I had purchased plots back in the 1970’s and the first use of them was in 2006 at which time we exchanged them for the mausoleum. We have held 2 funerals there and have always had excellent service, first by Harold Smith and now by Scott Sowards and the office staff. My husband and I have completed our pre-funeral planning by purchasing the final casket.. It feels nice to know the burden of choices will be removed from our children at that time of need."
"been trying since sept 2019 to get 4 numbers engraved on my dads headstone & a refund of the difference between a full burial and a cremation burial. my parents PREPAID for these years ago. Have spoken to Donavon more times than i care to count and he has told me more LIES than i should have ever heard. I even talked to the district manager and heard his LIES. I have filed complaints with BBB & WV Attorney Generals Office. DONT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS PLACE !!! they also own several cemeteries close by."
"6/29/2019 This summer (2019) the cemetery is doing a horrible job of upkeep for grounds. I called earlier last week and the gentlemen told me that he had no excuse that the help was taken to another cemetery to because they had no help. I went there today and they only mowed maybe two thirds of the cemetery. They have not trimmed or weed eated around the monuments for I would say a month. There are some grasses around the stones two feet high. Maybe the other cemetery needed help. But there are loved ones at this cemetery. They deserve the attention and respect as much as any other sister cemetery. We lost our son the day after last Christmas. We ordered a memorial marker and it was installed the week before the Memorial Day holiday. Since it has been install the grass around it and other markers and monuments are in deplorable condition. There is another sister cemetery close to my house and I pass it two or three times everyday. It's always in pristine condition. Management needs to get control of this issue and fix it ASAP. 7/5/2019 I have driven by the cemetery every day and nothing has been done at all. Looks like I'll be making a trip with my weedeater and trim myself. BTW, no one from the general manager's office has bother to contact me. I've emailed twice and no response either time. I'm very disappointed with your respect you have for your families."
