Reviews of Discovery Station Childcare & Preschool Inc
"This place has been nothing but fantastic. Our 9 month old has been there about four months now, and they have been a tremendous help to us new parents in teaching him to eat solids, hold his own bottle, etc. The staff is great, Drea is very loving to our son, Theresa, Kailey, Sharon, and everyone else take care of him. No complaints at all, just a lot of thanks to them."
"This place is a serious safety risk and should be shut down. My son attended this center when he was younger and on his last day ( because I pulled him out due to abuse and neglect) I picked him up and he was acting fussy once we were home I felt he was warm and took his temp 104! I received no calls throughout the day that he was unwell mind you he was 7 months old at the time. To take his temperature I had to take off his diaper and in doing so I noticed his groin was black. Again no calls were made to me regarding this during the day and it wasn’t like that when I brought him in that morning. We went to marry bridge immediately to find out he has a serious infectious disease from improper diaper changing and sanitation. This causes my son to spend months in the hospital having surgery and the facility had the NERVE to ask me why I wasn’t bringing him back and argue that he was completely fine the entire day. A fever of 104 would not be something that spontaneously started within our 5 min drive home. As you can see from the many reviews like mine this place is not only unsafe but negligent and money motivated."
"OUR SON WAS DISCRIMINATED AGAINST FOR HAVING A SIMPLE NEED TO BE WATCHED WHILE HE ATE. If I could give 0 stars I would. My son was on the waitlist for months as the next child to be accepted into the infant room. When we toured this daycare, we spent time communicating our son's eating habits from the start and we were told it wouldn't be a problem and he would be accommodated. My son's eating habits are that he is sensitive to food textures, and he gags. So again, we were told this wouldn't be an issue and that once another child moved to the 1-year-old classroom our son would start. We checked in regularly as they said it would be a couple of months and we didn't mind. We finally got a call from the director (TERESA) saying they were ready to take my son and asked when we would like him to start. We had an appointment at 4:15 p.m. with the director, Teresa, to turn in all the paperwork. When we arrived the director was not there (RED FLAG) and the teacher had no idea who our son was and had no idea he was starting the next day. (RED FLAG) The teacher asked us what center our son was starting at. (RED FLAG) We went through all the paperwork and informed the teacher about his eating habits she did not express any concerns. The teacher said everything could be accommodated. A little while after I received a call from the director (AT 5:45 PM; remember he was to start the next morning) that they spoke to the NEW OWNERS (It has been taken over by LIL PATRIOTS) and they said they were denying my son because of his "needs" and that they could not accommodate his "needs" and that " We are not staffed properly." I want to specify that my son does not have special needs. He only needs to be watched while he eats, which you would hope they would be watching your child eat in the infant room. I do not understand what "needs" they think he needs accommodating. To this day the director has yet to lay eyes on my son to even make this kind of decision. CLEARLY, they lack communication with their staff and potential clients. NEW OWNERS are not off to a good start."
"My youngest child went here for roughly a year - this location was personally recommended to me by a coworker. My son loved “Teacher Teresa” and enjoyed his time there. She was so kind and patient with him, I felt like I was leaving him with a family member, rather than dropping him off at daycare. I’m so grateful for his positive experiences here!"
"If I could give 0 stars I would. My kids have never gone here and I won't have them after today when I came across a maybe 4 year old in the middle of 160th and was almost hit by several cars! Myself and some others got him on the side and one of them said let's check the daycare while I was on with 911. We doubted a daycare would lose a kid but sure enough he was theirs. The girl acted like it was no big deal he got out. Basically "ya, he's ours thanks!" No real concern, didn't even ask of he was ok."
