"My daughter got in last minute during my maternity leave and I was considering Kindercare as I got a discount through work. At the time my daughter got in, the building was not up to date, they did not have double locked doors and those 2 things were concerning to me as kindercare did. However, it was 5 minutes from my work and everyone seemed more relatable during our walk through then the other place. So I went with my gut. I was a first time mom and this was just before covid hit. I'm also a nurse so I was considered essential. Pre covid I got to meet and get to know the staff super well because I would visit on my lunch to breastfeed my child instead of pumping. They were all really great, so good with the kids and they communicated with me really well. Especially with being a nurse, I wasn't always able to make it there the same time every day so they would be able to feed my daughter when she was hungry vs. waiting for me and hungry. During covid, I was able to see this place transform. They got the locked double doors, a new playground, while new interior. It's beautiful. 2 price increases in the 3 years we have been there but still very competitively priced to other daycares and I did check during covid in case they had to close their doors. With covid came a lot of concern with if I was going to have a space to bring my daughter. They stayed open the whole time and were so good about their practices that they had only 2 notifications during all of covid. The staff (Lacey, Alicia, and Karven) was empathetic to many requests I had with my job including discussing an upcoming strike and how that would impact financially and how they could assist. I cannot say enough of how much I enjoy these teachers. I truly rely on them for a lot of what my daughter has progressed to and I so appreciate every one. She has so much fun and loves all of her teachers. Out of my 3 years here, I have yet to have instances where I've had to complain or have any criticisms. As time moves on with her growing, I am getting sad to know that we may not have her here much longer and it'll be a tough day when that happens for my daughter and my husband and I."

"I have been taking my 3 yr old to GHLC for 5 months now, my kid LOVES the teachers, can't stop talking about them. So far they have made it a great experience."

"Both my daughters love it here. My oldest daughter (2 years) is autistic so getting her to nap at home has always been a struggle, but she takes a 2 hour nap at school everyday. My youngest (9 months) loves her teachers, and loves eating all their yummy snacks."

"GHLC was really an awesome daycare before it was bought out by the new owner, Karven. My children went here for almost 2 years and it was nothing but positive teachers and staff who cared for all of the children! I am very pleased my children no longer go here. I would advise any family to be cautious, the communication is not the best, and the Director, Lacy, seems to let emotions rule over her decisions. Definitely not a professional business. I would hate for any family to experience what we had to go through!"

"This daycare has significantly gotten worse throughout the years. To start, they lose clothing consistently and don’t care at all. They have a “lost and found”at the front people just help themselves to. So countless, cute, not the cheapest clothing gone. They send my son home with snacks, and I requested not to. They didn’t listen, and sent my son home with chocolate that my dog got too. Called and requested a call back from the director and I get a teachers aid (they’re most in high school) and she said she “asked around and no one said they did it” ARE YOU KIDDING ME!? Who’s going to pay should an emergency situation arise? I specifically requested no food home. I am lucky my son is not allergic to anything because the kids are always sharing foods, they don’t check records before giving items out and they don’t communicate either. Another situation that caused me to miss my sons preschool graduation is the fact they don’t communicate. They sent absolutely nothing home with him, and when the day arose he had no one there. They said they “posted” a flyer the Friday before,”..... but they don’t send anything home. Are you kidding me? So being wise to that they don’t communicate, you also have to ASK is there is anything, because they like to hide paperwork on rate increases as well. If this place actually knew what they were doing and CARED about the families giving them business, I wouldn’t be looking elsewhere. Save yourselves the headache, extra money for clothes and incompetence. Go to a place OTHER Than Gresham heights (recent name change from Stepping Stones)"
