"Fun place to spend the day"
"This part of Wake Forest takes you back to another era, is like going back in time but with the modern amenities. Buildings are old construction but well maintained lots of old brick walls, concrete/hardwood floors and bared wood ceilings. Restaurants, winery, vintage bookstore, pizza, burger place, coffee shop and more. Is a very nice small part of downtown to walk and enjoy. Parking is not bad during weekdays but not enough during the weekend, Holidays or special events. You can find street parking few blocks away."
"We go to historic downtown Wake Forest for trick or treating on Halloween. The whole town decorates so nicely for Halloween every year and the historic houses are amazing to see! Some houses will set up little haunted houses or give out free hot cocoa for the adults while the kids go door to door. This is one of the best towns in the area for trick or treating!"
"Historic downtown Wake Forest is an absolute must go. My family and I love walking the historic area, especially during the holiday season. It is very well kept up, you always see cops patrolling, there are several places you can walk into, and it is dog friendly. My husband was introduced to WF by me and now requests to go. We moved 40 minutes away and still drive over there. The coffee shop is amazing, we make a stop almost every time we are there. If you haven't made this walk before, it is highly encouraged. Peaceful, beautiful, and friendly!!"
"On-street parking means there will likely never be a dedicated bike lane. But the street is something like 200 years old, and it has fantastic character. I would bet somewhere under all of it, there's cobblestone. If they wanted to take it down to that, I would definitely approve. 5 stars just on GP."
