"Off the tourist tours. Private property, but if the owner Clyde is there he may show you around. Thursdays is best according to Clyde."
"This place is an incredible piece of history & has a very interesting story. You definitely get the chance to experience a unique perspective while on the property & the gentleman who owns the place is extremely nice to guests!"
"This is such a cool place to visit. You cant get into the building, but it would be cool if you could. So much history packed into a tiny piece of land. It's a shame that the historical society doesn't do anything to maintain this amazing piece of history."
"The remaining structures from the confederate prison were eerie to be found in the quiet neighborhood with the encroaching vines and scrubs - weathered tools and old cooking pots scattered around seemed to have been forgotten long ago. The whole scene was totally unexpected. We heard there is an eccentric old caretaker who lives there but was unseen."
