"My infant daughter got a head injury while in their care and they lied about it. I reported them to the state and they’re currently under investigation. I also had received calls from Angeline at 10:30pm with slurred speech and 2am texts from her. (Obviously intoxicated and under the influence) Very unprofessional and uncaring. Do not let them care for your children under no circumstance."
"I was not going to write a negative review on this place but since pulling my child out of care and I quit working there, there has been some things the owner has said about me that was very unprofessional. So I feel responsible to make sure people in this town actually know what this place is like. My child was physically and mentally abused here. reported to Cps. Nothing was done by the owner, in no way shape or form did she care about my child being treated badly. She is emotionally and mentally abusive towards the children and their parents. If your kid is showing any signs of distress like problems with their behavior, do not believe it has anything to do with you as a parent because she will ask “what’s going on at home that this child needs to act out” … She has a way of making parents feel like it’s all their fault when it’s her teaching and her ways that depreciates your children’s ability to learn and grow. She called my child a “black girl”. Watched her struggling and crying trying to put her sheet on the mat and wouldn’t help her. My child never had accidents before attending school here, almost every day she would have an accident or two because she was told “no” to go potty and then left in her wet clothes all day long. All the kids know what the blue line is, it makes them feel terrible being called out to sit on the floor just to wait to go potty. I could go on and on about this place, I’ve worked in a lot of centers and this is by far the worst I’ve ever seen. My child had a reaction on her wrists, took her to the dr and they told me it was a bleach/ cleaning chemical rash! She obviously isn’t in contact with cleaning supplies at home. I know for a fact the director makes the children clean the tables. Put two and two together for yourself… She told me it looked like yeast and it was caused by my child “not washing hands correctly or washing them too much since she had to go potty so often”. She talks down to the employees in front of students. I saw her toss a vacuum at a co worker. I’m pregnant and was going to stay in the infant room, she shoved me out without talking to me about it and forced me be the toddler teacher. Wouldn’t hear anything I had to say about how hard it was on me to be in that room vs. infants. I tried insanely hard to make this place better while I was there but I am not going to let somebody talk down to me and treat my daughter the way she did. It was a positive thing for myself and my child leaving, so she was right about that."
"This place was horrible! My son is terrified of going to any daycare now because of his experience at this place! The owner tried HARD to get me to quit my career as a welding student at the college to work for her! To the point she was asking me for my username and password to be able to go in and finish up things because I wasn't going fast enough for her...because I did not, she was nasty to my child! I ended up barely passing my class these last 2 quarters...and might have to be dropping out until I am able to place my son in a SAFE environment, he and I both enjoy him going to! I do not understand how this place is still running!!! She owns the house across the street from the daycare...not to live in but to spy on the daycare! I couldn't help but feel frustrated with this with all of the homelessness going on right now!"
"I love Banbury corner. I won’t lie I was hesitant to send my kids there after reading some of these reviews but I was a little confused because my Niece and nephew went there for over 2 yrs & I never heard of any of these complaints.. now my 3 children go here + my niece & nephew , my twins started here when they were 1 yr old and my son was 2.5 none of my kids had ever been in someone else’s care before so I was very nervous. They welcomed my children with open arms and my kids love it there! The first couple days my oldest would cry when I dropped him off but now- they run in every morning with excitement and they even miss their teachers over the weekend. They play outside when the weather is nice, they make cute art every day & do lots of fun activities, the teachers send me pics through out the day of my kids. My children have learned a lot and my oldest has opened up a lot from how shy he was when he started, he loves his teachers & gets excited for show and tell every week. As for the owner, I really like her too! She is straightforward and I appreciate that. She is very upfront about what is expected & the rules that need to be followed she does a wonderful job running the daycare, even through the whole pandemic she did everything she could to help keep our children safe & taken care of. There will be rules set out at the beginning everyone is expected to abide by which any good daycare should be clear in what they expect. I have never had any issues with this daycare at all & like I said I have 3 kids & 2 other relatives that go here. You can even message to check on your kids anytime, they’ve helped my son potty train, my twins learn how to walk, taught them the abc’s & how to count. Over all I’ve had a great experience with Banbury corner."
"My family and I have used many daycare services, since we move frequently, and this daycare is by far the worst in 7 years. My son had been attending this center for three years when it turned ownership and management. Once the new director, and now owner, began working there the care of my son went down. He became anxious at drop off, when previously he was excited to go to school. On what would become our last day, my son became upset when I was leaving, he was 3 at the time, and Angeline, the new owner, told me that his behavior was not normal. Angeline and I had a bit of a conversation, and I soothed my son as best as possible and went to work. About 4 hours later I received a call from Angeline that I was to get my son right away. He had turned violent and was pulling curtains from the windows and attacked the staff. I was flabbergasted. When I said that I am surprised to hear this, that I had never received a report like this in the past, Angeline's response was "I doubt that." When I asked what my son was doing at that moment she would not answer my question, just that I was to get him right away. Then I asked if my son was ok? And again, she refused to answer my question. Just that if I didn't come get him that she would call my husband to get our son. I obviously was not going to leave my son in her care any longer, I just simply needed to know if he was alright. I could not leave work that day and my husband got our son and when he walked in the center, our son was sleeping without his sheet or blankets on the floor. Angeline proceeded to tell my husband that our son needed to be "evaluated". We got him evaluated and he scored within normal limits in every category. This incident happened in 2015, our son is 7 now and has never had any "report" of violent behavior and is thriving in school. Angeline is unprofessional and uncaring. She should not be allowed to take care of any child. The 3 years prior to Angeline's start of the center, I would hear frequently from the then director how loving of a child he is. I cannot say for certain what transpired that day with my son, but I have very serious doubts that this woman was telling the truth. Even if he had behaved that way she should have told me that my son was fine or what he was doing at that moment when I asked. She refused. That alone is troublesome. Having lived in Port Angeles for 4 years, I know how difficult it is to find childcare, please do not bring your children there."
